اُردو  زبان  ۔  گوپال  کرشن  بتّا  شفقؔ

شفقؔ  سینچا  ہے  جس  کو  خونِ  دل  سے

مجھے  محبوب  وہ  اُردو  زبان  ہے

زبانیں  اور  بھی  لاکھوں  ہیں  لیکن

کہاں  پہنچی  کوئی  اُردو  زبان  تک

۳

جس  کو  اپنوں  نے  بگاڑا  ہے  شفقؔ

صورتِ  اُردو  زباں  ہے  زندگی

اے  شفقؔ  اُردو  کشی  کے  دور  میں

میر  و  غالب  کی  زباں  محفوظ  رکھ

۵

وہ  کچھ  کہیں  شفقؔ  یہ  حقیقت  ہے  آج  بھی

بزمِ  ادب  میں  سکّۂ  اردو  زباں  چلے

۶

لیلائے  غزل  جو  کو  سلیقے  سے  سجا  دے

الفاظ  کی  رنگیں  وہ  قبا  ڈھونڈ  رہا  ہوں

۷

آپسی  جھگڑے  تو  خود  مٹ  جائیں  گے

وسعتِ  اُردو  زباں  ہونے  تو  دو

۸

شک  جن  کو  اپنی  ایکتا  پہ  ہو  کہیں  شفقؔ

سِکّے  رواں  دلوں  پہ  کیوں  اُردو  زباں  کے  ہیں

۹

ہر  طرف  بڑھتی  ہوئی  اِن  مشکلوں  کی  بھیڑ  میں

سب  سے  مشکل  یہ  شفقؔ  اُردو  زباں  مشکل  میں  ہے

शफ़क़ सींचा है जिस को ख़ून-ए दिल से

मुझे महबूब वो उर्दू ज़बां है

ज़बानें और भी लाखौं हैं लैकिन

कहां पहुंची कोई उर्दू ज़बां तक

जिस को अपनौं ने बिगाढा है शफ़क़

सूरत-ए उर्दू ज़बां है ज़िंदगी

अए शफ़क़ उर्दू-कशी के दौर में

मीर ओ ग़ालिब की ज़बां महफ़ूज़ रख

वो कुछ कहें शफ़क़ ये हक़ीक़त है आज भी

बज़्म-ए अदब में सिक्का-ए उर्दू ज़बां चले

लैला-ए ग़ज़ल को जो सलीक़े से सजा दे

अल्फ़ाज़ कि रंगीं वो क़बा ढूंड रहा हुं

अपसी झगढे तो ख़ुद मिट जाएंगे

वुस’अत-ए उर्दू ज़बां होने तो दो

शक जिन को अपनी एकता पे हो कहें शफ़क़

सिक्के रवां दिलौं पे क्यूं उर्दू ज़बां के हैं

हर तरफ़ बढ़ती हुई इन मुशकिलौं की भीढ में

सब से मुशकिल ये शफ़क़, उर्दू ज़बां मुशकिल में है

That which has been cultivated/nurtured with the blood of the heart, my most favourite is the urdu language.

Mutual disagreements will disappear by themselves. Just let urdu language grow. This is another way of expressing the widely held belief that urdu played/plays a major role in national/communal harmony/integration.

sub se mushkil ye shafaq, urdu zabaaN mushkil meN hai

There is a crowd of difficulties all around. In this onslaught, the most important difficulty, O shafaq, is that urdu language faces a problem.
