In the conventions of love, the lover is supposed to be quiet and not openly reveal is love for the beloved so as not to malign her reputation. The beloved is supposed to ignore the lover (even if she secretly loves him) and torture him just short of death. Thus, the endeavour of love is quiet and it tests the patience of the lover.

kaun sii daastaan3 hai pyaare 1.world 2.ears tuned to the sound/voice 3.story
The whole world is attentive, it has its ears tuned to the voice of the storyteller. What is the story my friend. We are left to decide what. It could well be the story of love.

dekh duniya ke maah-paaroN1 ko
ye zamiiN aasmaan hai pyaare 1.literally pieces of the moon – beauties, beloved
The poet is playfully drawing attention to the beloved on this earth rather than future promises of hoor/angels in heaven. Look at the beauties here, this earth is like the sky/heaven, my friend.

kis taraf3 tera dhyaan4 hai pyaare 1.mirage 2.condition 3.direction 4.attention, attraction
This is probably a sufiyaana statement. This material world and its attractions are like a mirage, they are not the real thing. Why is your attention in that direction. The implication is that this is an invitation to turn towards the spiritual.

tu agar2 mehrbaan3 hai pyaare 1.unkind 2.if 3.kind
Time (i.e., life) will not be unkind to you, if you are kind to others, my friend.

pyaar ki ye zabaan hai pyaare People also call it urdu. It is a language of love, my dear friend.

This fleet of boats that are my Ghazal are also a jeweller’s store, my friend.

There is no escape from the judgement of god. How can jaaved escape – get away. The sky is all around my friend. The sky all around could be a symbol of divine justice.
