غزل سے ۔ پنڈت آنند نرائن مُلّاؔ

دلہن تھی تجھے میں نے ساتھی بنایا
شبستاں سے میدان میں کھینچ لایا

تیرے نرم لہجے کو للکار دے دی
تیرے دستِ نازک میں تلوار دے دی

دیا دردِ انساں کا احساس تجھ کو
کھڑا کر دیا نظم کے پاس تجھ کو

दुल्हन थी तुझे मैंने साथी बनाया
शबिस्तां से मैदान में खैंच लाया

तेरे नर्म लहजे को लल्कार दे दी
तेरे दस्त-ए नाज़ुक में तल्वार दे दी

दिया दर्द-ए इंसां का एहसास तुझ को
खढा कर दिया नज़्म के पास तुझ को

This is a very short nazm addressed to Ghazal, showing agreement with the call of the Progressive Writers’ Association.

dulhan thi, tujhe maiN ne saathii banaaya
shabistaaN1 se maidaan meN khaiNch laaya 1.bedchamber
The traditional way in which Ghazal was treated was delicately, tenderly like dealing with a bride. Thus, you were treated like a bride, I made you my companion. I dragged you out of the bedchamber into the open field (battlefield).

I gave your gentle accent the sound of a defiant challenge and in your delicate hand, I gave a sword to fight.

diya dard1-e insaaN ka ehsaas2 tujh ko
khaRaa kar diya nazm ke paas tujh ko 1.pain, suffering 2.feeling
I gave you (made you express) the feeling of human suffering. I stood you next to the nazm. Traditionally, a nazm follows a slightly relaxed structure and carries a coherent theme, while a Ghazal follows a strict structure where each she’r stands on its own with complete meaning but can be of an independent theme from the others. mulla composed mostly coherent Ghazal combining the structure of the Ghazal with the theme of the nazm.
