There are at least two collections of Ghazal and nazm. There is precious little by way of biographical information but it seems that he was associated with teaching (perhaps urdu) in some college in kolkata. This Ghazal, in the zamin of Ghalib’s ‘maiN huN apne shikast ki aavaaz’ is linked to Ghalib naqsh-e qadam.

In conventional/sufiyaana thought the material world is supposed to be an illusion and the afterlife is supposed to be real and permanent. It is thought that there is a veil of mystery between the creator and the created. If there had not been such a veil, then there would not have been any illusion or reality. This perhaps is an explanation or justification for the ‘veil of mystery’.
