تو غزل ہوتی ہے ۔ سید انسار حسین حرمتؔ

دل کو توفیق زیاں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
زہرِ غم بادہ چکاں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۲
فکر تپ تپ کے نکھرتی رہے کندن کی طرح
آگ سینے کی جواں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۳
دھیمی دھیمی سی نوا سلسلۂ جنبانِ ابد
پردۂ جاں میں نہاں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۴
دھڑکنیں صورتِ الفاظ بکھرتی جائیں
دل معانی کی زباں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۵
آنچ مِٹّی کے کھلونوں کی طرح ملتی جائے
ذہن خوابوں سے تپاں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۶
روزنِ ماہ سے پچھلے پہر اک شوخ لقا
جانب دل نگراں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۷
روح شب اپنی اداؤں کی تب و تاب لیے
خلوت آرائے بیاں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے

ایک سیال کسک جادہ کشائے تخلیق
فن کی نبضوں میں رواں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
۹
تجربے درد کی شبنم میں نہائیں حرمتؔ
گل فشاں شعلۂ جاں ہو تو غزل ہوتی ہے
तो ग़ज़ल होती है – सय्यद अन्सार हुसैन हुर्मत

दिल को तौफ़ीक़-ए-ज़ियाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
ज़हर-ए-ग़म बादा-चुकाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है

फ़िक्र तप तप के निखरती रहे कुंदन की तरह
आग सीने की जवाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है

धीमी धीमी सी नवा सिलसिला जुम्बान-ए-अबद
पर्दा-ए-जाँ में निहाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
४
धड़कनें सूरत-ए-अल्फ़ाज़ बिखरती जाएँ
दिल मआ’नी की ज़बाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
५
आँच मिट्टी के खिलौनों की तरह मिलती जाए
ज़ेहन ख़्वाबों से तपाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
६
रौज़न-ए-माह से पिछले पहर इक शोख़-लक़ा
जानिब-ए-दिल-निगराँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
७
रूह-ए-शब अपनी अदाओं की तब-ओ-ताब लिए
ख़ल्वत-आरा-ए-बयाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
८
एक सय्याल कसक जादा-कुशा-ए-तख़्लीक़
फ़न की नब्ज़ों में रवाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है
९
तजरबे दर्द की शबनम में नहाएँ हुर्मत
गुल-फ़िशाँ शो’ला-ए-जाँ हो तो ग़ज़ल होती है

dil ko taufiiq1-e ziyaaN2 ho to Ghazal hoti hai
zahr-e Gham baada-chukaaN3 ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.ability 2.loss, deprivation 3.wine dripping/showering
The heart should have the ability to bear loss (cheerfully). It should convert the poison of pain/sorrow to overflowing wine. Only then, will you have the ability to compose Ghazal.

fikr1 tap tap ke nikharti2 rahe kundan3 ki tarah
aag4 siine ki javaaN ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.thought, reason 2.freshened, purfied 3.gold 4.fire/passion
The fire/passion in the bosom should be youthful, rebellious and vigorous. In that fire, thought/reason/logic is melted and purified, like gold. Only then can you compose Ghazal.

dhimi dhimi si navaa1 silsila2-e junbaan-e-abad3
parda-e-jaaN4 meN nihaaN5 ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.sound 2.continuity 3.eternal movement/change 4.veil of life 5.hidden, mixed, has become one with life.
When a gentle sound, continuous and harmonious with eternal movement (of nature), hidden behind the veil/mixed in with life, becomes a part of your writing, then there can be a Ghazal.

dhaRkaneN soorat-e-alfaaz1 bikharti2 jaayeN
dil m’aani ki zabaaN ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.like/in the shape of words 2.spread/scatter
When heartbeats throb and spread in the shape of words, when the heart speaks true meaning, then there can be a Ghazal.

aaNch miTTi ke khilonoN ki tarah milti jaaye
zahn1 KhwaaboN se tapaaN2 ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.mind 2.heated, agitated
Clay toys are formed/shaped and when they fired the form/shape becomes firm. There is an analogy drawn here for mind/thoughts, which should be fired by imagination (Khwaab) and take shape.

jaanib5-e dil nigaraaN6 ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.peep hole, window 2.moon 3.late night, small hours of the morning 4.mischievous face 5.towards 6.guardian, protector
When some mischievous beauty looks out of a window on the moon and nurtures the heart, a Ghazal is born.

Khalvat-aaraa4-e bayaaN5 ho to Ghazal hoti hai 1.spirit of the night 2.style, playfulness 3.razzle-dazzle, glory 4.comfortable in seclusion/privacy 5.versification, writing/reciting
When the spirit of the night, in all its glory and in its playful style, settles down in its private chambers, only then can Ghazal flow.

gul-fishaaN3 sho’la-e-jaaN4 ho to Ghazal hoti hai
1.experiences 2.pen-name of poet 3.flower scattering 4.flame of life
O, hurmat, when experience is bathed in the dew of pain, when soul’s spirit scatters flowers, assuaging the pain that is experienced then a Ghazal emerges.
