O jawahar lal, herald of world peace, breath of healing, wise leader, healer of the nation, lover of the helpless, beloved of the voiceless. You had a unique and different message, yet a call that was near and dear to our hearts. You have left this transient world and arrived at the shores of eternal life.

Your life was a gift to humanity. You circled in search of world peace like the moth circles a lamp (in love of the flame). In the world of material knowledge you were passionate about the river of (universal) love. The tavern (of love) is deserted, there is none intoxicated with love. Desert sands weep because there is no passionate lover like majnuN wandering through the desert.
