جنون  ہے  شباب  کا

خیال  ہے  عذاب  کا

عجیب  شئے  ہیں  آپ  بھی

بھلا  شباب  و  عاشقی

الگ  ہوے  بھی  ہیں  کبھی

حسین  جلوہ  ریز  ہوں

ادائیں  فتنہ  خیز  ہوں

ہوائیں  عطر  بیز  ہوں

تو  شوق  کیوں  نہ  تیز  ہوں

کوئی  اِدھر  کوئی  اُدھر

اُبھارتے  ہوں  عیش  پر

چلو  جی  قِصّہ  مختصر

درست  ہے  تو  ہو  مگر

He taught himself urdu and later was a shaagird of maulana Ghulam qaadir bilgirami, a scholar and poet of faarsi. He joined the movement for the creation and independence of pakistan, served as an advisor to ayuub KhaaN, and director of morals in the army. He received several awards from the government of pakistan.
