رسی اے عاشقِ غمگیں بکام آہستہ آہستہ

کہ باشد زخمِ دل را اِلتیام آہستہ آہستہ

صبوری کن دِلا، کان ماہِ آہستہ خرامِ ما

شود خود جلوہ گر بالائے بام آہستہ آہستہ

۳

بہ ہر سُو خار می روید زِ خاکِ جادۂ اُلفت

بنہ اے رہ نوردِ شوق گام آہستہ آہستہ

شکستہ دل مشو در عشقِ اُو ہر چند خام استی

کہ آخر پختہ گردد مردِ خام آہستہ آہستہ

غلط بود آنچہ ما پنداشتیم اے دل بنادانی

کہ گردد آں نگارِ شوخ رام آہستہ آہستہ

جمالِ خویش بنمودی بہ اہلِ انجمن یکدم

جلالِ خویش ظاہر کرد جام آہستہ آہستہ

تمنّا عاشقِ دلگیر کی ہوتی ہے پُر آہستہ آہستہ

کہ زخمِ دل بھی بھرتا ہے مگر آہستہ آہستہ

۲

صبر اے دل یہ ہے ماہِ تاباں کا خرام

کہ خود وہ جلوہ گر ہو بام پر آہستہ آہستہ

۳

خار ہیں ہر سُو زمیں پر راہِ اُلفت میں

اُٹھا پھونک کر تو ہر قدم آہستہ آہستہ

۴

ہر چند تیرا شوق ہے ناقص، نہ رو اے دل

کہ ہوگا پختہ تیرا کام بھی آہستہ آہستہ

۵

میں نادانی میں سمجھا تھا کہ آساں مرحلہ ہوگا

اے دل، نگارِ شوخ تو ہوتا ہے رام آہستہ آہستہ

۶

جمال اپنا دکھاتا میکدہ میں ہے وہ فوراً ہی

مگر ظاہر جلال اپنا کرے ہے جام پھر آہستہ آہستہ

तमन्ना आशक़-ए दिल्गीर की होती है पुर आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

के ज़ख़्म-ए दिल भी भरता है, मगर आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

सबर अए दिल ये है माह-ए ताबां का ख़िराम

के ख़ुद वो जल्वा-गर हो बाम पर आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

ख़ार हैं हर सू ज़मीं पर राह-ए उल्फ़त में

उठा फूंक कर तू हर कंदम आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

हरचंद तेरा शौक़ है नाक़स, न रो अए दिल

के होगा पोख़्ता तेरा काम भी आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

मैं नादानी में समझा था के आसां मरहला होगा

अए दिल, निगार-ए शूख़ तो होता है राम आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

जमाल अपना दिखाता मयकदे में है वो फ़ौरन ही

मगर ज़ाहर जलाल अपना करे है जाम फिर आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

‘qadam phooNk ke uThaana’ is an expression which literally mean ‘blow the dust off before taking each step’ i.e. look carefully before taking each step. Thus, there are thorns in all direction on the path of love. Look carefully before you take each step.
