تقدیر  ہی  کا  نام  لئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

یہ  ظرفِ  میکشی  کوئی  دیکھے  کہ  بزم  میں

غصّہ  بھی  محتسب  کا  پئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

مطلب  خدا  سے  مجھ  کو  نہ  بت  سے  کوئی  غرض

اپنی  ہی  جستجو  کے  لئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

مقبول  ہوں  نہ  ہوں  یہ  مقدّر  کی  بات  ہے

سجدے  کسی  کے  در  پہ  کئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

جس  موت  پر  ہو  زندگیِ  خضر  بھی  نثار

ارمان  میں  اُسی  کے  جئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

دستِ  جنوں  ہے  اور  ہیں  پردے  مجاز  کے

دنیا  کو  بے  نقاب  کئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

اے  جوشؔ  ضبطِ  آہِ  جہاں  سوز  ہے  محال

سچ  تو  یہ  ہے  کمال  کئے  جا  رہا  ہوں  میں

बे-नक़ाब किये जा रहा हुं मैं – पंडित लभुराम जोश मल्सियानी

गो मर रहा हुं फिर भी जिये जा रहा हुं मैं

वादे पे एतेबार किये जा रहा हुं मैं

ख़ाली हर एक जाम किये जा रहा हुं मैं

जी भर गया है, फिर भी पिये जा रहा हुं मैं

ये जानता हुं स’ई-ए रफ़ुकार गर नहीं

फिर भी जिगर का चाक सिये जा रहा हुं मैं

क्यूंकर कहूं के बानी-ए बेदाद कौन है

तक़्दीर हि का नाम लिये जा रहा हुं मैं

ये ज़र्फ़-ए मयकशी कोई देखे के बज़्म में

ग़ुस्सा भी मोहतसिब का पिये जा रहा हुं मैं

मतलब ख़ुदा से मुझ को न बुत से कोई ग़रज़

अपनी हि जुस्तजू के लिये जा रहा हुं मैं

मक़्बूल हों न हों ये मुक़द्दर कि बात है

सजदे किसी के दर पे किये जा रहा हुं मैं

जिस मौत पर हो ज़िन्दगी-ए ख़िज़्र भी निसार

अरमान में उसी के जिये जा रहा हुं मैं

दस्त-ए जुनूं है और हैं परदे मजाज़ के

दुनिया को बे-नक़ाब किये जा रहा हुं मैं

I keep emptying goblet after goblet. Even though I feel satiated, still I keep on drinking. Does he mean that he is drinking to drown his sorrows not just to enjoy wine.

The beauty of the she’r is the use of wine drinking juxtaposed with the expression ‘anger drinking’ which is used to mean tolerating. Look at my capacity to hold my drink in the gathering. Along with drinking wine, I tolerate the pontification of the preacher.

Whether they are accepted or not, is a matter of fate. I keep offering my devotion at the door of the beloved. This reinforces the concept of doing what you must, without an expectation of rewards. Said Ghalib …

jis maut par ho zindagi-e Khizr1 bhi nisaar2
armaan3 meN usi ke jiye jaa raha huN maiN

Khizr is a legendary old man who has discovered the nectar of life, taken a drink and is immortal. His long life is considered highly desirable. But the poet longs for/desires a grand and honourable death for which even eternal life (life of Khizr) can be sacrificed.

duniya ko be-naqaab5 kiye jaa raha huN maiN

Reality/spirituality is hidden behind many veils of illusion. But the poet has a passion to reveal the truth. Thus, his hand keeps unveiling the mysteries of this material/spiritual world.
