دھواں ۔ مخدوم محی الدین
جنتیں خاک پہ جس رات اُتر آئیں تھیں
بدلیاں رحمتِ یزداں کی جہاں چھائی تھیں
عشرت و عیش کی جس جا کہ فراوانی تھی
جس جگہ جلوہ فگن روحِ جہاں بانی تھی
ہاں وہیں میرے دلِ زار نے یہ بھی دیکھا
ہاں میری چشمِ گنہگار نے یہ بھی دیکھا
خونِ دہقاں میں امارت کے سفینے تھے رواں
ہر طرف عدل کی جلتی ہوئی میت کا دھواں

जन्नतें ख़ाक पे जिस रात उतर आईं थीं
बदलियाँ रहमत ए यज़दां की जहां छाईं थीं
इशरत ओ ऐश की जिस जा के फ़रावानी थी
जिस जगह जलवा फ़िगन रूह ए जहाँ बानी थी
हां वहां मेरे दिल ए ज़ार ने ये भी देखा
हां मेरी चश्म ए गुनहगार ने ये भी देखा
ख़ून ए दहक़ाँ में अमारत के सफ़ीने थे रवां
हर तरफ़ अद्ल की जलती हुई मय्यत का धुआँ

Khoon e dahqaN3 meN amarat4.ke safine5 the ravaN6
har taraf adl7 ki jalti hui mayyat8 ka dhuaaN9 1.sorrowful heart 2.sinful sight 3.farmer’s blood 4.rich 5. boat 6.sailing 7.justice 8.corpse 9.smoke
… there it was that my sorrowful heart also saw, yes my guilt-ridden eyes also saw, the ship of opulence sailing in the river of the peasant’s blood, the smoke of the burning corpse of justice rising everywhere.
