رِم جھماتی ہوئی برسات غزل بن جائے

حسنِ تنظیم ہو ساقی کا مرا حسنِ خیال
پھر تو یہ بزمِ خرابات غزل بن جائے

عشق کے ہاتھ مِٹّی بھی ہے سونا اے دوست
میں جو بھیجوں وہی سوغات غزل بن جائے

قصۂ دار و رسن ہو کہ بیانِ قد و زلف
میں ہوں شاعر مری ہر بات غزل بن جائے

हुस्न-ए तन्ज़ीम हो साक़ी का मेरा हुस्न-ए ख़याल
फिर तो ये बज़्म-ए ख़राबात ग़ज़ल बन जाए

इश्क़ के हाथ मिट्टी भी है सोना अए दोस्त
मैं जो भेजूँ वही सौग़ात ग़ज़ल बन जाए
५
क़िस्सा-ए दार ओ रसन हो के बयान-ए क़द ओ ज़ुल्फ़
मैं हूँ शा’एर मेरी हर बात ग़ज़ल बन जाए

He has written powerfully and with much feeling about communal harmony in India as well as other political themes. He considers himself a successor of mir taqi mir, composing in his style. The poet spends his day creating music and puts words to it in the form of a Ghazal during the night. Thus, the totality of his condition/activities create Ghazal.

apni palkoN1 ke sitaare jo maiN shaamil2 kar duN
rim-jhimaati3 hui barsaat Ghazal ban jaa’e 1.eyelids 2.include, mix 3.drizzling
The stars of his eyelids are his tears – a reflection of the intensity of his emotions. If he were to include his emotions in the raindrops, then every gentle drizzle would become a Ghazal. There is also the sound of rain which has musicality and his Ghazal would have the same music.

The beautiful and harmonious order that the saaqi brings in combination with the beauty of imagination that the poet brings can make the whole gathering feel like a resonating and meaningful Ghazal.

maiN jo bhejuN vahi sauGhaat1 Ghazal ban jaa’e 1.gift
Whatever the hand of love offers, even if it is clay, turns into gold, my friend. Whatever gift I send can become a Ghazal (the Ghazal being the gold standard of speech).
