گذر رہے ہیں شب و روز تم نہیں آتیں
ریاضِ زیست ہے آزردہِ بہار ابھی
مرے خیال کی دنیا ہے سوگوار ابھی
جو حسرتیں تیرے غم کی کفیل میں پیاری
ابھی تلک میری تنہائیوں میں بستی ہیں
طویل راتیں ابھی تک طویل ہیں پیاری
اُداس آ نکھیں ابھی اِنتظار کرتی ہیں
بہارِ حسن پہ پابندیِ جفا کب تک
یہ آزمائشِ صبرِ گریز پا کب تک
قسم تمہاری بہت غم اُٹھا چکا ہوں میں
غلط تھا دعوہِ صبرِ شکیب آ جاوٗ
قرارِ خاطرِ بیتاب تھک گیا ہوں میں

गुज़र रहे हैं शब ओ रोज़ तुम नहीं आतीं
रियाज़ ए ज़ीस्त है आज़ुर्दा ए बहार अभी
मेरे ख़्याल की दुनिया है सोगवार अभी
जो हसरतें तेरे ग़म की कफ़ील में प्यारी
अभी तलक मेरी तनहाइयों में बस्ती हैं
तवील रातें अभी तक तवील हैं प्यारी
उदास आँखें अभी इंतेज़ार करती हैं
बहार ए हुस्न पे पाबन्दी ए जफ़ा कब तक
ये आज़माइश ए सब्र ए गुरेज़ पा कब तक
क़सम तुम्हारी बहुत ग़म उठा चुका हूँ मैं
ग़लत था दावा ए सब्र ओ शकेब आ जाओ
क़रार-ए ख़ातिर ए बेताब थक गया हूँ मैं

guzar rahe haiN shab o roz, tum nahiN atiiN
riyaaz1 e zeest2 hai azurda3-e bahar abhi
mere Khyaal ki duniya hai sogwar abhi1.garden 2.life 3.wilted
The poet/lover forlorn that life is humdrum, day and night but the beloved is not with him. The garden of life is wilted, still devoid of spring, the world of his thoughts, still sorrowful.
jo hasrateN1 tere Gham ki kafeel2 meN pyari
abhi talak meri tanhaiyoN3 meN basti haiN
taveel4 rateN abhi tak taweel haiN pyari1.desires, longing 2.guarantor, supporter 3.loneliness 4.long
He treasures the pain in his heart due to his longing for the beloved, which is the guarantor of this pain. The longing still resides in his thoughts. The long nights he spends thinking of her are still dear to him.
udaas aankheN abhi intezaar karti haiN
bahaar-e husn1 pe paabandi2-e jafa3 kab tak
ye aazmaesh4-e sabr5-e gurez-pa6 kab tak1.spring of beauty (NOT beautiful spring) 2.restrictions 3.cruelty 4.trial 5.patience, forbearance 6.run away, escape
The poet/lover’s sad eyes still await for a sight of her. She is (her looks are) the “spring of beauty”. The beloved has given instructions to her own beauty not to appear before the lover. How long will these looks be restricted, how long will this cruely last, how long will the trial of forbearance continue.

The claim of strength and forbearance that I had made was wrong. I am tired/I have lost, my disturbed mind needs calm/peace, come back.
