یہ اپنی مرضی سے سوچتا ہے اسے اُٹھا لو
اُٹھانے والوں سے کچھ جدا ہے اسے اُٹھا لو

وہ بے ادب اب اس سے پہلے جن کو اُٹھا لیا تھا
یہ ان کے بارے میں پوچھتا ہے اسے اُٹھا لو
۳
اسے بتایا بھی تھا کہ کیا بولنا ہے کیا نہیں
مگر یہ مرضی سے بولتا ہے اسے اُٹھا لو
۴
جنہیں اُٹھانے پہ ہم نے بخشے مقام و خِلعت
یہ ان سیانوں پہ ہنس رہا ہے اسے اُٹھا لو
۵
یہ پوچھتا ہے کہ امنِ عامہ کا مسئلہ کیوں
یہ امنِ عامہ کا مسئلہ ہے اسے اُٹھا لو

اسے کہا تھا جو ہم دکھائیں بس اتنا دیکھو
مگر یہ مرضی سے دیکھتا ہے اسے اُٹھا لو

سوال کرتا ہے یہ دیوانہ ہماری حد پر

वो बे-अदब अब इस से पहले जिन को उठा लिया था

इसे बताया भी था के क्या बोलना है क्या नहीं
मगर ये मर्ज़ी से बोलता है इसे उठा लो

जिन्हें उठाने पे हम ने बख़्शे मक़ाम ओ ख़िल’अत
ये उन सियानों पे हंस रहा है इसे उठा लो

ये पूछता है क् अम्न-ए आम’अ का मस’अला क्यूं
ये अम्न-ए आम’अ का मस’अला है इसे उठा लो

इसे कहा था जो हम दिखाएं बस उतना देखो
मगर ये मर्ज़ी से देखता है इसे उठा लो

सवाल करता है ये दिवाना हमारी हद पर
ये अपनी हद से गुज़र गया है इसे उठा लो

He thinks of his own volition, pick him up and put him away. He is different from those who are in power, who orchestrate the ‘picking up’, put him away.

voh be-adab1 ab iss se pahle jin ko uThaa liya tha
ye un ke bare meN poochhta hai ise uThaa lo 1.disrespectful, daring
He is disrespectful, he now asks about those who were picked up in the past, take him away.

ise bataaya1 bhi tha keh kya bolna hai kya nahiN
magar2 ye marzi3 se bolta hai ise uThaa lo 1.instructed 2.but 3.will, volition, choice
He was instructed on what can be said and what cannot. But he speaks what is on his mind, put him away.

jinheN uThaane peh ham ne baKhshi1 maqaam2 o Khil’at3
yeh un siyaanoN4 pe haNs raha hai ise uThaa lo 1.granted 2.place, office 3.robe of honour 4.clever, shrewd, wise
We granted those who had done the work of ‘picking up’, high office and robes of honour. He laughs/sneers at these clever men, put him away.
