جہانِ نو ۔ مخدوم محی الدین
نغمے شرر فشاں ہوں اُٹھا آتشیں رباب
مضرابِ بے خودی سے بجا سازِ اِنقلاب
معمارِ عہدِ نو ہو تیرا دستِ پُر شباب
باطل کی گردنوں پہ چمک ذوالفقار بن
ایسا جہان جس کا اچھوتا نظام ہو
ایسا جہان جِس کا اُخوّت پیام ہو
ایسا جہان جِس کی نئی صبح و شام ہو
ایسے جہانِ نو کا تو پروردگار بن
जहान-ए नौ – मख़्दूम मोहिउद्दीन
नग़्मे शरर फ़शां हों उठा आतिशीं रबाब
मिज़राब-ए बेख़ुदी से बजा साज़-ए इन्क़ेलाब
मेमार-ए अहद-ए नौ हो तेरा दस्त-ए पुर-शबाब
बातिल की गरदनों पे चमक ज़ुल्फ़िक़ार बन
ऐसा जहान जिस का अछूता निज़ाम हो
ऐसा जहान जिस का उख़व्वत पयाम हो
ऐसा जहान जिस की नई सुबह ओ शाम हो
ऐसे जहान-ए नौ का तू परवरदिगार बन

There is another nazm entitled ‘shaa’er’ which also talks about the role of the poet. These should be considered two different moods of the poet rather than a conflict. faiz too has such ‘moods’. Compare this to faiz’s ‘shaa’er log’ and maKhdoom’s shaa’er to faiz’s ‘mauzoo-e suKhan’.

A world order which has no equal. A world order which carries the message of equality. A world order of a new day and night, new life. May you be the maker of such a new world.
