حسن آئینہ بنا ہے درد کی تصویر کا

آؤ پھر تازہ کریں افسانہ جوئے شیر کا

گلسِتاں کا ذرّہ ذرّہ جاگ اُٹّھے عندلیب
لطف ہے اِس وقت تیرے نالۂ شب گیر کا

لیجئے اے شیخ پہلے اپنے ایماں کی خبر
دیجئے پھر شوق سے فتویٰ مری تکفیر کا

خوابِ ہستی کو سمجھنے کے لیے بے چین ہوں
اعتبار آتا نہیں مجھ کو کِسی تعبیر کا

جس نے دی آخر غرورِ حُسنِ یوسف کو شکست
اللہ اللہ حوصلہ اِس دستِ دامن گیر کا

توڑ کر نکلے قفس تو گُم تھی راہِ آشیاں
وہ عمل تدبیر کا تھا یہ عمل تقدیر کا

گو زمانہ ہو گیا گلزار سے نکلے ہوئے

लुत्फ़ है इस वक़्त तेरे नाला-ए-शब-गीर का

लीजिए ऐ शैख़ पहले अपने ईमाँ की ख़बर
दीजिए फिर शौक़ से फ़त्वा मिरी तकफ़ीर का

ख़्वाब-ए-हस्ती को समझने के लिए बेचैन हूँ
ए’तेबार आता नहीं मुझ को किसी ताबीर का

जिस ने दी आख़िर ग़ुरूर-ए-हुस्न-ए-यूसुफ़ को शिकस्त
अल्लाह अल्लाह हौसला इस दस्त-ए-दामन-गीर का

तोड़ कर निकले क़फ़स तो गुम थी राह-ए-आशियाँ
वो अमल तदबीर का था ये अमल तक़दीर का
८
गो ज़माना हो गया गुलज़ार से निकले हुए
है मिज़ाज अब तक वही रेहानी-ए दिल-गीर का

The poet/lover has intense love towards the beloved. It is now beginning to show its effect. The condition is such that the beloved has become a picture/reflection of the pain of the poet/lover.

In the shiriN-farhaad legend, farhaad is set the task of diverting the course of a river in order to win the hand of shirin. He is a symbol of going through any pain for his love. This poet/lover wants to renew that story because it has been ages since the passing of farhaad. A new, more recent symbol is needed.

The whole world remains awake because of my wailing. But the one with intoxicating half-closed eyes is in deep sleep still.

I am impatient to understand the illusion/dream of life. I cannot believe any explanation on offer.

allaah allaah hausla5 is dast6-e daaman-gir7 ka 1.at last 2.pride of 3.beauty of Joseph 4.defeat 5.courage, daring 6.hand 7.holding the hem of the robe
The good looks of Joseph are legendary. Here the poet uses that beauty as symbolic of the beauty of the beloved. The poet/lover has had the steadfast courage to keep holding the hem of the robe of the beloved. At last he has overcome her pride/aloofness and gives credit to the courage of that hand.
