فرمانِ خدا (فرشتوں سے) ۔ محمّد اِقبال
اُٹّھو میری دُنیا کے غریبوں کو جگا دو
کاخِ اُمرا کے در و دیوار ہلا دو
گرماؤ غلاموں کا لہو سوزِ یقیں سے
کنجشکِ فرو مایہ کو شاہیں سے لڑا دو
سلطانیٔ جمہور کا آتا ہے زمانہ
جو نقشِ کہن تم کو نظر آئے مِٹا دو
جِس کھیت سے دہقاں کو میٔسر نہیں روزی
اُس کھیت کے ہر خوشۂ گندم کو جلا دو
کیوں خالق و مخلوق میں حائل رہیں پردے
پیرانِ کلیسا کو کلیسا سے اُٹھا دو
حق را بسجودے، صنماں را بطوافے
بہتر ہے چراغِ حرم و دیر بُجھا دو
میں ناخوش و بیزار ہوں مرمر کی سِلوں سے
میرے لئے مِٹّی کا حرم اوربنا دو
تہذیبِ نوی کارگہ شیشہ گَراں ہے

जो नक़्श-ए कुहन तुम को नज़र आए मिटा दो
जिस खेत से दहक़ान को मै’अस्सर नहीं रोज़ी
उस खेत के हर ख़ोशा-ए गंदूम को जला दो
क्यूं ख़ालिक़ ओ मख़्लूक़ में हा’एल रहें परदे
पीरान-ए कालीसा को कालीसा से उठा दो
हक़ रा बा-सजूदे, सनमां रा बा-तवाफ़े
बेहतर है चिराग़-ए हरम ओ दैर बुझा दो
मैं ना-ख़ुश ओ बेज़ार हुं मरमर की सिलौं से
मेरे लिए मिट्टि का हरम और बना दो
तहज़ीब-ए नवी कारगह-ए शीशा गरां है
आदाब-ए जुनूं शाए’र-ए मश्रिक़ को सिखा दो

In the first section Lenin is presented before god and complains to him about the injustice of the condition of the worker on earth (in god’s domain). In the second part, angels confirm that conditions on earth are bad. In the third part, god issues an edict to his angels which sounds like he wants socialism established.
uTTho meri duniya ke GharibauN ko jaga do
kaaKh1-e umara2 ke dar o diivaar3 hila do
garmaao4 GhulaamauN ka lahu5 soz6-e yaqiN7 se
kanjashk8-e faromaaya9 ko shaahiN10 se laRa do 1.palace 2.rich 3.doors and walls 4.warm up 5.blood 6.fire of 7.certainty, hope 8.sparrow 9.lowly 10.falcon
Go and wake up the poor of my world. Shake up the palaces of the rich. Warm up the blood of the slaves with the fire of hope. Give the lowly sparrow courage to attack the falcon.
sultani1-e jamhoor2 ka aata hai zamaana
jo naqsh3-e kuhan4 tum ko nazar aaye miTa do
jis khet se dahqaaN5 ko mai’assar6 nahiN rozi7
us khet ke har Khosha-e gandum8 ko jala do 1.sovereignty 2.democracy, republic 3.signs 4.old, ancient (old order/system) 5.farmer 6.available, obtainable 7.livelihood

milta hai kahaaN Khosha-e gandum ke jalaauN
The farmer is long dead and buried, who can I wake up. There is no grain of wheat to be found to burn.
kyuN Khaaliq1 o maKhluq2 meN haa’el3 raheN parday
peeran4-e kaleesa5 ko kaleesa se uTha do
haq6 ra ba-sajoode7, sanamaaN8 ra ba-tawaafe9
behtar10 hai chiraaGh-e haram11 o dair12 bujha do 1.creator 2.created 3.obstructing 4.elders 5.church 6.truth, god 7.prostration, bowing down in prayer 8.idols 9.circumabulation 10.better 11.mosque 12.temple
Why should there be curtains drawn between the creator and created (why should there be a middle-man between them). Dismiss the elders of the church from the church. (They only deceive) god by bowing prayerfully and by circumambulating idols. (To stop this deception) Extinguish the lamps of mosque and temple.

I am unhappy and tired of slabs of marble. Make me another sanctuary of clay. The new culture is the workshop of glass blowers (filled with brittle, fragile, weak value system). Teach iqbal the ways of passion (so he may arouse the populace to shatter this glass edifice).
