مہک اُٹھا ہے دیار اپنا ۔ عطا الرحمٰن عطاؔ کاکوی

حسین وعدہ، حسین آمد، حسیں ہے انتظار اپنا
حسین بے تابیاں ہیں اپنی، حسیں دلِ بے قرار اپنا
۲
جمال رنگیں، خرام رنگیں، ہوا معطر، فضا معنبر
نقوشِ پا سے کِھلے ہیں غنچے، مہک اُٹھا ہے دیار اپنا
۳
نثار گل ہے قدم قدم پر، فِدا چمن خاکِ رہ گزر پر
وہ رنگ نکھرا نقوشِ پا کا کہ رنگ بھولی بہار اپنا
۴
وہ دھوپ اُس کے رخ حسیں کی، وہ چھوٹ آئینۂ جبیں کی
جو چاند نکلے بھی آسماں پر، تو بھول جائے شِعار اپنا

وہ چال میں اس کی کیفِ صہبا، قدم قدم پر ہے لغزشِ پا
فلک فراموش کر دے گردش زمین بھولے قرار اپنا

نہ کچھ حوادث ہی کا خطر ہو، نہ دل کو گرداب ہی کا ڈر ہو
عطاؔ جو اس کی نظر ادھر ہو تو پھر سفینہ ہے پار اپنا
महक उठा है दयार अपना – अता-उर-रहमान अता काकवी

हसीं वादा, हसीं आमद, हसीं है इन्तेज़ार अपना
हसीन बे-ताबियाँ हैं अपनी, हसीं दिल-ए बे-क़रार अपना

जमाल रंगीं, ख़िराम रंगीं, हवा मो’अत्तर, फ़ज़ा मो’अम्बर
नक़ूश-ए पा से खिले हैं ग़ुंचे, महक उठा है दयार अपना
३
निसार गुल है क़दम-क़दम पर, फ़िदा चमन ख़ाक-ए रह-गुज़र पर
वो रंग निखरा नक़ूश-ए पा का, के रंग भूली बहार अपना
४
वो धूप उस के रुख़-ए हसीं की, वो छूट आईना-ए जबीं की
जो चाँद निकले भी आसमां पर, तो भूल जाए शे’आर अपना
५
वो चाल में उस की कैफ़-ए सहबा, क़दम-क़दम पर है लग्ज़िश-ए पा
फ़लक फ़रामोश कर दे गर्दिश, ज़मीन भूले क़रार अपना
६
न कुछ हवादिस ही का ख़तर हो, न दिल को गिर्दाब ही का डर हो
अता जो उस की नज़र इधर हो, तो फिर सफ़ीना है पार अपना

The poet is reflecting on events and states of mind associated with his union (visaal) with the beloved. Beautiful was her promise, beautiful her arrival, and beautiful was the time of anticipation. He even enjoys the emotional state of eagerness and the anxiety and restlessness of his heart.

This is a wonderful (if exaggerated) description of the beloved’s beauty and grace. The beloved’s beauty, her graceful movement makes the air fragrant and perfumed with amber. The very beauty and softness of her footprints makes buds bloom and fills the lover’s abode with fragrance.

Roses bow down at every step; the garden offers devotion to the dust of the path along which the beloved has passed. Such colour/style emerged from her footsteps and spring (the season of blooms) forgot her own colours i.e., the colour/beauty of spring fades in comparison with the colour of the beloved’s footprints.

Her beautiful shining face; the gem-like brilliance on her clear brow; if the moon were to emerge in the skies, it might forget its own qualities of shining.

Here the picture is that the earth is at rest and the sky is rotating. The beloved’s movement, like the intoxication of wine, the stagger at each step is so enticing that the sky forgets its style of rotation and the earth forgets that it is at rest.

ataa4 jo uss ki nazar5 idhar ho, toh phir safiina6 hai paar7 apna 1.calamities 2.danger, dread 3.whirlpool, storm 4.pen-name of the poet 5.glance 6.boat 7.across
There will be no dread of calamities; no fear of storms; O ataa, if she were to cast one glance towards me, then my boat would get across the ocean. This could of course be applied to the divine instead of the beloved.
