کہن سال دُنیا
یہ دُنیا بھی کیا مسخری ہے
نئے سال کی شال اُوڑھے
بہ صد طنز ہم سب سے یہ کہہ رہی ہے
کہ میں تو نئی ہوں
ہنسی آ رہی ہے

करोड़ों बरस की पुरानी
कुहन साल दुनिया
ये दुनिया भी क्या मस्ख़री है
नए साल की शाल ओढ़े
बसद तंज़ हम सब से ये कह रही है
के मैं तो नई हूँ
