نیا سال  –  سید  محمد شاہد

 

آیا ہے نے سال کی تو دینے بدھائی

شاداں ہوں بہت تیری محبت سے مگر بھی

لوٹ جاتی ہے نظر پوچھنے کیا چیز نئی ہے

کوشش تو کی لیکن میری ناکام سعئی ہے

 

گرتے رہے بم ویسے ہی، مت پوچھ سوالی

کتنے مرے معصوم یہ کِس نے خبر لی

کہتے تھے بدل جائیگی ظالم یہ حکومت

آ ئیگا  نیا سال یہ شبھ  لے کے مہورت

 

محنت کشوں کے کام سے سیٹھوں کی تجوری

بھرتی رہی ایسے کہ  نہ پکڑی گئی  چوری

سنتے ہیں نئے سال یہ تجویز چلے  گی

محنت کرے کوئی تو برابر ملے روزی

 

چلی  بیار ہے یہ فرقہ پرستوں کی طرف سے

جئے  رام کہو   ورنہ اُ ڑا   دینگے  پرخچے

کہتے ہیں کہ اس سال بدل دینگے طریقہ

انسان ایک ہونگے بانٹے گا نہ فرقہ

 

انسانیت بھی چھینی اچھوت انکو کر دیا

تھی چھوٹی ایک کھیتی سو وہ بھی ہڑپ لیا

کہتے ہیں نئے سال بدل دینگے یہ حالات

قانون چلے پورا رہے سب میں مساوات

 

حدود باندھ کے چادر میں ڈھانپ رکھا تھا

بنی تھی چاردیواری قفس میں بند رکھا تھا

سنتے ہیں کہ  ابکے یہ کہن سال مراسم

ٹو ٹینگے  بہار   آ  ئیگی   بدلے  گا   یہ موسم

 

فتوں  کی کچھ اس طرح سے ہوتی رہی یورش

توہینِ نبوّ ت میں  لپیٹی  ہوئی سازش

کہتے ہیں بدل دینگے ہم ملّا کی یہ عادت

جمہور کے دستور   پہ  مبنی ہو حکومت

 

معصوم دماغوں کو مدرسے میں بٹھایا

طالبِ جو تھا علم کا، اُسے  طالبِ جان بنایا

کہتے ہیں بدل دینگے مدرسے کے درس کو

کر دینگے چراغاں ہنرِ علم  و   فکر کو

 

خودکش بنا شہید قتل عام جہاد

بم ،خون، خرابا  تمدّن ہوا برباد

کہتے ہیں بدل دینگے ہم میعارِ شہادت

معصوم کا خوں بخشے بھلا کس کی ہے جراؑت

 

کیا بدلا نۓ سال میں مت پوچھ سوالی

جلتا ہے جگر دیکھ انوکھی یہ دیوالی

کہتے ہیں نئی کر دینگے ہم ا پنی یہ دنیا

کیسا ہے بھرم دیکھ جسے ہم نے چلایا

आया है नऐ साल की तू देने बधाई

शादां हुं बहुत तेरी मोहब्बत से मगर भी

लौट जाती है नज़र देखने क्या चीज़ नई है

कोशिश तो की लैकिन मेरी नाकाम स’ई है

 

गिरते रहे बम ऐसे के मत पूछ सवाली

कितने मरे मा’सूम ये किस ने ख़बर ली

कहते हैं बदल जाएगी ज़ालिम ये हुकूमत

आएगा नया साल ये शुभ ले के महूरत

 

मेहनत कशौं के काम से सेठों की तिजोरी

भरती रही ऐसे के ना पकड़ी गई चोरी

सुनते हैं नऐ साल ये तजवीज़ चलेगी

मेहनत करे कोइ तो बराबर मिले रोज़ी

 

चली बयार है ये फिरक़ा परस्तौं की तरफ़ से

जए राम कहो वरना उड़ा देंगे परख़चे

कहते हैं के इस साल बदल देंगे तरीक़ा

इंसान एक होंगे नांटेगा न फ़िरक़ा

 

इंसानियत भी छीनी अछूत उनको कर दिया

थी छोटि एक खेती सो वो भी हड़प लिया

कहते हैं नऐ साल बदल देंगे ये हालात

क़ानून चले पूरा रहे सब में मसावात

 

हुदूद बाँध के चादर में ढांप रक्खा था

बनी थि चारदीवारी क़फ़स में बंद रक्खा था

सुनते हैं के अब के ये कुहन साल मरासिम

टूटेंगे, बहार आएगी, बदले गा ये मौसम

 

फ़त्वों की कुच्छ इस तरह से होती रही यूरिश

तौहीन-ए नुबुव्वत में लपेटी हुई साज़िश

कहते हैं बदल देंगे हम मुल्ला की ये आदत

जम्हूर के दस्तूर पे मबनी हो हुकूमत

 

मा’सूम दिमाग़ों को मदरसे में बिठाया

तालिब जो था इल्म का, उसे तालिब-ए जान बनाया

कहते हैं बदल देंगे मदरसे के दरस को

कर देंगे चिराग़ां हुनर-ए इल्म ओ फ़िकर को

 

ख़ुदकुश बना शहीद, क़त्ल-ए आम जिहाद

बम, ख़ून, ख़राबा तमद्दून हुआ बरबाद

कहते हैं बदल देंगे हम मे’आर-ए शहादत

मा’सूम का ख़ूं बख़्शे भला किस की है जर’अत

 

क्या बदला नऐ साल में मत पूछ सवाली

जलता है जिगर देख अनोखी ये दिवाली

कहते हैं नई कर देंगे हम अपनी ये दुनिया

कैसा है भरम देख जिसे हम ने चलाया

Bombs kept falling like always, do not ask my friend. No one came to see how many innocents died. They say that this tyrannical regime is going to change. The new year will usher in a good omen (I had written this with the transition from George Bush to Obama in mind).

mehnat kashauN1 ke kaam se seThauN ki tijori
bharti rahi aise ke na pakRi gayii chori
sunte haiN naye saal ye tajveez2 chalegi
mehnat karey koii to baraabar miley rozi3
1. those who work hard, labour 2. proposal 3. livelihood
The workers kept working hard but the treasury to the capitalist kept filling up and no one was any wiser. They say that in the new year a proposal will be made that workers be able to make a living.

chali bayaar1 hai ye firqa parastauN2 ki taraf se
jai raam kaho varna uRa deNge paraKhche3
kahte haiN ke is saal badal deNge tareeqa
insaan ek hoNge baaNTega na firqa4

Communalists (Hindutva) started a trend demanding that (Muslims) pronounce “Jai Ram” or risk being beaten up. They say that this year they will change their ways. All humanity will be one, not divided based on religion.

insaaniyat1 bhi chheeni achhoot unko kar diya
thhi chhoTi ek kheti so vo bhi haRap2 liya
kahte haiN naye saal badal deNge ye haalaat3
qaanoon chale poora rahe sub meN masaavaat4

They robbed them of their humanity and declared them untouchable/unclean. Even their small farms were appropriated (slum clearing, eminent domain). They say that in the new year, conditions will change. The full force of the law will be enforced and there will be equality.

hudood1 baandh ke chaadar2 meN DhaaNp rakkha thha
bani thhi chaardivaari qafas3 meN band rakkha tha
sunte haiN ke ab ke ye kuhan-saal4 maraasim5
TooTeNge, bahaar aaegi, badle ga ye mausam

They set limits/restrictions (on women), covered them in veil, circumscribed them to the boundaries of the home. I hear that this year these outdated traditions will change and usher in a fresh new spring.

There has been a regular onslaught of religious edicts which are conspiracies hidden in layers of blasphemy. They say that they will change the conduct of the mullah/priest. They say that government will be based on democratic principles.

They took young/innocent brains and put them in the madrasa. They asked for knowledge but were converted to murderers who take life. They say that this year they will change the lessons in the madrasa, that they will light up the lamp of thought and reason.

bom, Khoon, Kharaaba tamaddun5 hua barbaad6
kahte haiN badal deNge hum me’aar7-e shahaadat8
maa’soom ka KhuN baKhshe bhala kis ki hai jur’at9
1. one who commits suicide 2. martyr 3. mass murder 4. holy war 5. culture, civilization 6. destroyed 7. standards 8. martyrdom 9. courage, daring
A suicide has become a martyr and mass murder is considered holy war. Bombs, blood, destruction – the very civilization/culture is obliterated. They say that they will change the standards of martyrdom. No one will dare excuse the killing of innocents.
