رزقِ حلال دے ۔ دنیش کمار بنسل دنیشؔ

مری خواہشوں کو مرے خدا، تُو ہمیشہ دستِ مجال دے

کوئی کام ایسا میں کر سکوں، کہ زمانہ میری مثال دے

نہ بُرا کروں، نہ بُرا سہوں، نہ غلط دِشا میں کبھی چلوں

مری ذہنیت کو مرے خدا، سدا نیک فکر و خیال دے

۳

تری چاہ عیش و طرب کی ہے، مجھے شوق عشق و خلوص کا

جو تو خود کو ہی نہ بدل سکے، تو مجھے بھی دل سے نکال دے

۴

میں جنم جنم سے بھٹک رہا، ترا پیار پانے کو دلربا

شبِ ہجر میری یہ ختم ہو، مجھے اب تو صبح وصال دے

مجھے اُن کی بزمِ سخن میں اب نیا گیت کوئی سنانا ہے

مری کلپنا کی اُڑان کو، اے خدا تو اوجِ کمال دے

کوئی مینکا ہو یا اُروشی، مرے دل کو اُس سے نہ واسطہ

مری جانِ جاں، مری شاعری، کوئی اِس کو حسن و جمال دے

مجھے مال و زر نہیں جاہئیے، کسی غیر نے جو کمایا ہو

مجھے روزِ حشر کی فکر ہے، مجھے رب تو رزقِ حلال دے

मेरी ख़्वाहेशौं को मेरे ख़ुदा, तु हमेशा दस्त-ए मजाल दे

कोई काम ऐसा मैं कर सकूं, के ज़माना मेरी मिसाल दे

न बुरा करूं, न बुरा सहूं, न ग़लत दिशा में कभी चलूं

मेरी ज़हनियत को मेरे ख़ुदा, सदा नेक फ़िक्र ओ ख़याल दे

तेरी चाह ऐश ओ तरब कि है, मुझे शौक़ इश्क़ ओ ख़ुलूस का

जो तू ख़ुद को ही न बदल सके, तो मुझे भी दिल से निकाल दे

मैं जनम जनम से भटक रहा, तेरा प्यार पाने को दिलरुबा

शब-ए हिज्र मेरी ये ख़त्म हो, मुझे अब तो सुब्ह विसाल दे

मुझे उन की बज़्म-ए सुख़न में अब, नया गीत कोई सुनाना है

मेरी कल्पना कि उढान को, अए ख़ुदा तु औज-ए कमाल दे

कोई मेनका हो या उर्वशी, मेरे दिल को उस से न वास्ता

मेरी जान-ए जां, मेरी शा’एरी, कोई इस को हुस्न ओ जमाल दे

मुझे माल ओ ज़र नहीं चाहिये, किसी ग़ैर ने जो कमाया हो

मुझे रोज़-ए हश्र कि फ़िक्र है, मुझे रब तु रिज़्क़-ए हलाल दे

meri KhwaahishoN ko meray Khuda, tu hamesha dast1-e majaal2 dey
koii kaam aisa maiN kar sakuN, keh zamaana3 meri misaal4 dey

O god, give my hand the courage to put my desires into action. May I do such work, accomplish at least some thing, that the world use me as an example.

na bura karuN, na bura sahuN1, na Ghalat disha2 meN kabhi chaluN
meri zahniyat3 ko meray Khuda, sadaa nek4 fikr5 o Khayaal6 dey  
1.accept, tolerate 2.direction 3.mentality, character 4.virtuous 5.reasoning 6.thinking
May I not do any wrong, nor accept any wrong being done. May I never go in the wrong direction. O god, grant my make my character such that I always have the right reasoning and virtuous thinking.

teri chaah1 aish2 o tarab3 ki hai, mujhe shauq4 ishq o Khuloos5 ka
jo tu Khud ko hi na badal6 sakay, to mujhay bhi dil say nikaal dey    
1.liking, desire 2.luxury 3.pleasure, joy 4.desire 5.friendship, sincerity 6.change
This is probably addressed to a friend or perhaps to the beloved. You want luxury and pleasure while I desire love and friendship. If you cannot change yourself then it is better to break relations with me.

maiN janam janam say bhaTak raha, tera pyaar paanay ko dilruba1
shab2-e hijr3 meri ye Khatm ho, mujhe ab to sub’h visaal4 dey

Through cycles of births and lives, I have been wandering, searching for true love. My my night of separation end and may I get to the dawn of union. This may be talking about union with the divine spirit.

meri kalpana3 ki uRaan ko, aye Khuda tu auj4-e kamaal5 dey

In their poetic gathering, I have to recite a new Ghazal. Grant the flight of my imagination, new heights of excellence.

koi menaka1 ho ya urvashi2, mere dil ko us say na vaasta3
meri jaan-e-jaaN4, meri shaa’eri, koi is ko husn5 o jamaal6 dey    
1&2.names of ‘apsara’ – heavenly damsels equivalent to ‘hoor’ 3.relationship, desire 4.life and soul 5.beauty 6.glory
My heart does not desire any angels. My life and soul is my poetry. Grant my poetry beauty and glory.

mujhe maal-o-zar1 nahiN chaahiye, kisi Ghair2 ne jo kamaaya3 ho
mujhe roz-e-hashr4 ki fikr5 hai, mujhe rab6 tu rizq7-e halaal8 dey    
1.wealth and treasure 2.someone else 3.earned 4.day of judgment 5.worry 6.lord 7.food, sustenance, livelihood 8.legitimate, honest
I do not want wealth and treasure that someone else has earned. I worry about the day of judgement. O lord, give me that which is legitimate and honest, which I have legitimately earned.
