تقسیم  ۔  بام  دیو  شرما  رِشیؔ  پٹیالوی

نظر  کی  تنگیِٔ  داماں  سے  ہو  گئی  محدود

یہ  کائنات  کی  وُسعت  جو  لامکاں  تک  ہے

حدوں  کی  مانگ  سے  پہلے  یہ  فیصلہ  کر  لیں

مقام  و  وقت  کی  حد  کا  نشاں  کہاں  تک  ہے

حدوں  کی  بات  چلی  ہے  تو  یہ  بھی  ہم  کہہ  دیں

حدیں  بنائی  ہوئی  ہیں  غرض  کے  بندوں  نے

جو  رسم  اپنوں  سے  اپنوں  کو  دور  کرتی  ہے

وہ  رسمِ  کُفر  چلائی  ہے  شر  پسندوں  نے

حدوں  کو  چھوڑ  کے  ہم  سرحدوں  کی  بات  کریں

دیارِ  انجمنِ  دوستاں  کا  ذکر  چلے

رہے  خیال  رواداری  و  محبّت  کا

یہاں  کی  بات  چھڑے  یا  وہاں  کا  ذکر  چلے

اِدھر  بھی  اپنے  ہیں  سب  لوگ  اُدھر  بھی  اپنے  ہیں

مگر  فریبِ  سیاست  کے  ہیں  ستائے  ہوئے

کوئی  بھی  غیر  نہیں  حق  شناس  نظرؤں  میں

تعصّبات  کے  ماحول  میں  پرائے  ہوئے

کسی  سے  بیر  سکھاتا  نہیں  کوئی  مذہب

یہ  اونچ  نیچ  کی  تفریق  کیا  ضروری  ہے

تعلّقات  کی  بُنیاد  پائیدار  نہیں

رفاقتوں  میں  جہاں  بھی  دلوں  کی  دوری  ہے

پرائے  درد  پہ  بھی  دل  تڑپ  تڑپ  اُٹّھیں

دِلوں  کا  درد  غمِ  زندگی  کا  چارا  ہو

زمیں  بنٹے  تو  بنٹے  مال  و  زر  بنٹے  تو  بنٹے

مگر  کسی  کو  نہ  تقسیمِ  دل  گوارا  ہو

नज़र कि तंगी-ए दामां से हो गई महदूद

ये काएनात का वुसअत जो लामकां तक है

हदौं कि मांग से पहले ये फ़ैस्ला कर लें

मक़ाम ओ वक़्त का हद का निशां कहां तक है

हदौं कि बात चली है तो ये भी हम कह दें

हदें बनाई हुई हैं ग़रज़ के बन्दौं ने

जो रस्म अपनौं से अपनौं को दूर करती है

वो रस्म-ए कुफ़्र चलाई है शर-पसंदौं ने

हदौं को छोड़ के हम सरहदौं कि बात करें

दयार-ए अंजुमन-ए दोस्तां का ज़िक्र चले

रहे ख़्याल रवादारी ओ मोहब्बत का

यहां कि बात छिढे या वहां कि बात चले

इधर भि अपने हैं सब लोग उधर भि अपने हैं

मगर फ़रेब-ए सियासत के हैं सताए हुए

कोई भि ग़ैर नहीं हक़-शिनास नज़्रौं में

ता’स्सुबात के माहौल में पराए हुए

किसी से बैर सिखाता नहीं कोई मज़्हब

ये ऊंच नीच कि तफ़्रीक़ क्या ज़रूरी है

ता’अलुक़ात कि बुनियाद पाएदार नहीं

रिफ़ाक़तौं में जहां भि दिलौं कि दूरी है

पराए दर्द पे भी दिल तड़प तड़प उट्ठें

दिलौं का दर्द ग़म-ए ज़िन्दगी का चारा हो

ज़मीं बंटे तो बंटे, माल ओ ज़र बंटे तो बंटे

मगर किसी को न तक़्सीम-ए दिल गवारा हो

He was a disciple of nasim noormahli, who in turn was a disciple of daaGh dehlavi. He has written exquite Ghazal in chaste urdu and many progressive nazm in chaste urdu as well as in spoken hindi/urdu/hindustani. He was part of group of friends who organized joint celebration of one another’s religious festivities to promote communal harmony. This is a heartfelt lament about partition.

ye kaayenaat3 ki vus’at4 jo lamakaaN5 tak hai
hadauN6 ki maaNg se pahle ye faisla7 kar leN
maqaam8 o vaqt ki hadd9 ka nishaaN kahaaN tak hai

The expanse of this universe that is beyond space, is now limited by the narrowness of our view. Before demanding boundaries, let us decide where the mark of the limits of time and space are.

hadeN banaaii hui haiN Gharaz1 ke bandauN2 ne
jo rasm3 apnauN se apnauN ko duur karti hai
vo rasm-e kufr4 chalaaii hai shar-pasandauN5 ne

Now that conversation has turned to boundaries, let us acknowledge that it is selfish people who draw boundaries. The tradition that separates friends from friends is an evil tradition perpetrated by mischief makers.

dayaar3-e anjuman4-e dostaaN ka zikr5 chale
rahe Khayaal ravaadaari6 o mohabbat ka
yahaaN ki baat chhiRe ya vahaaN ka zikr chale

Let us go beyond limits and talk of boundaries. Let us talk about the territory of gatherings of friends. Keep in mind that we should be mindful of courtesy and love whether we talk of this side or that.

magar fareb1-e siyaasat2 ke haiN sataaye hue
koii bhi Ghair nahiN haq-shinaas3 nazrauN meN
ta’ssubaat4 ke mahaul5 meN paraaye hue

On this side are our people and on that side too, but they have been deceived by politics. In the eyes of those who can discern Truth, there is on “other”. It is only bigotry that makes it so.

kisi se bair1 sikhaata nahiN koi mazhab
ye ooNch neech ki tafreeq2 kya zaruri hai
ta’lluqaat3 ki buniyaad4 paayedaar5 nahiN
rifaaqatoN6 meN jahaaN bhi dilauN ki duuri hai   
1.hostility, ill-will 2.differentiation 3.relationships 4.foundation 5.strong, sound 6.friendships
No religion teaches hostility towards others. Why is it necessary to create this differentiation between superior and inferior. Whenever there is a distance between the hearts of friends, the foundation of relationships becomes weak.

dilauN ka dard1 Gham-e zindagi ka chaara2 ho
zamiN baNTe to baNTe maal o zar3 baNTe to baNTe
magar kisi ko na taqsim-e-dil4 gavaara5 ho    
1.pain, sympathy 2.healer 3.gold, wealth 4.division of hearts 5.acceptable, tolerable
May hearts ache upon seeing the pain of others. May this pain (of sympathy) be the cure of the sorrow of living. If land is divided, let it be so. If wealth is divided, let it happen. But let not the division of hearts be acceptable to anyone.
