ہمیں منظور نہیں

پورا ملک ہوا مخالف نظام مغرور

سبز باغ دِکھلا، حاصل کی جو اکژیت

اسی کی مے کا نشا چڑھ گیا جو بھرپور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

آزادی کی قدریں، نہ آئین محفوظ

وحشی نظام سمجھے کہ یہ عوام مجبور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

ہِٹلر شاہی کی کرتوتیں اب جگ ظاہر

حسیں وطن کے جسم پہ نفرت کے ناسور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

گلی سڑک باغوں میں گوںجے قومی نعرے

یہ مشترکہ تہذیب کرو دلوں سے دور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

شاہین باغ کی خواتین بیٹیاں خفا

اِس جذبے کا آج جو ہو نہ سکے مشکور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

صرف شہریت مذہب مدّے، جاہل نظام

مریں مفلسی میں وطن کے کسان مزدور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

طُلَبا ادیب و دانشور فنکار اُٹھے

رجعت پسند کریں مادرِ وطن بے نور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

وطن پرستوں کو اب ہے آئین بچانا

ملک میں ذہنی غلام سمجھیں اِسے فتور

ہمیں منظور نہیں

اِس یزید پر بھولے دل کیوں یقیں کریں

اندھا بہرا شاہ ہو کتنا ہی مشہور

जो तक़्सीम करे वो तरमीम-ए-दस्तूर

हमें  मंज़ूर नहीं

पूरा मुल्क हुआ मुख़ालिफ़ निज़ाम मग़रूर

सब्ज़ बाग़ दिख्ला, हासिल की जो अक्सरियत

उसी की मय का नशा चढ़ गया जो भरपूर

हमें मंज़ूर नहीं

आज़ादी की क़द्रें, ना आईन महफ़ूज़

वहशी निज़ाम समझे कि ये अवाम मज्बूर

हमें मंज़ूर नहीं

हिटलरशाही की करतूतें अब जग-ज़ाहर

हसीं वतन के जिस्म पे नफ़्रत के नासूर

हमें मंज़ूर नहीं

गली सड़क बाग़ों में गूंजे क़ौमी ना’रे

ये मुश्तरका तहज़ीब करो दिलों से दूर

हमें मंज़ूर नहीं

शाहीन बाग़ की ख़वातीन बेटियां ख़फ़ा

इस जज़्बे का आज जो हो न सके मश्कूर

हमें मंज़ूर नहीं

सिर्फ़ शहरियत मज़हब मुद्दे, जाहिल निज़ाम

मरें मुफ़लिसी में वतन के किसान मज़्दूर

हमें  मंज़ूर नहीं

तुलबा अदीब ओ दानिश्वर फ़नकार उठे

रज’अत पसंद करें मादर-ए वतन बेनूर

हमें मंज़ूर नहीं

वतन-परस्तों को अब है आईन बचाना

मुल्क में ज़हनी ग़ुलाम समझें इसे फ़ुतूर

Retired professor of English, dehli university. A protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, this nazm is a part of the ‘inkaar’ series, under subject-wise index. It was first published in ‘naya path’, magazine of the anjuman-e jamhooriat pasand musannifeen/ janwadi lekhak sangh (www.jlsindia.org), a liberal organisation of hindi and urdu writers. He served as its general secretary from 2003 to 2014 after serving in several other capacities. He was also the editor of ‘naya path’ and has published several collections of poems.

That which divides, such an amendment to the Constitution, we do not accept. The whole country opposed, such an arrogant regime, we cannot accept.

us ki mai4 ka nasha chaRh gaya jo bharpuur

1.green fields, false promises 2.obtain 3.majority (in elections) 4.wine
Making false promises, the majority in elections that you gained, the full intoxication of this wine in all you do, we cannot accept.

vahshi4 nizaam samjhe ke ye avaam5 majboor6
                            hameN manzoor nahiN   
1.values 2.constitution 3.safe 4.brutal 5.public 6.helpless
Neither respecting values of the freedom movement, nor keeping the constitution safe, such a brutal regime that thinks that the public is helpless, we cannot accept.

The trickery of the despotic rule is now well-known to the whole world. Sores of hatred on the beautiful body of the homeland, we cannot accept.

1.lovers of homeland 2.constitutioon 3.enslaved minds, narrow minded 4.mischief, unpatriotic Lovers of the homeland have to work to protect the constitution. Enslaved minded people consider this to be mischief, we cannot accept.

How can simple people trust this tyrannical despot. A blind and deaf ruler, however much famous he may be, we cannot accept.

nafrat3 ke karona vaaiirus se ho maazoor4
                            hameN manzoor nahiN     
1.spirit, soul 2.youthful, strong, fresh 3.hatred 4.weak, sick
The spirit of gandhi is still strong in youthful hearts. That the Corona virus of hatred make it weak, we cannot accept.
