غیروں سے محبت میں سنورتی ہے زباں اور

آنگن ہی میں خوشبو کو مقید نہ کرو تم

پرواز سے مل جائیں گے انساں کو جہاں اور

उभरते हैं निशाँ और – एहसान जाफ़्री

जज़्बात की शिद्दत से निखरता है बयाँ और

ग़ैरौं से मोहब्बत में सँवरती है ज़बाँ और

एहसास की पल्कौं में तेरी याद का परतव

ग़मगीन बना देता है महफ़िल का समाँ और

गुज़्रे हुए हालात से बनती है कहानी

गिरते हुए तारौं से मुनव्वर है मकाँ और

मुझ को न बता ज़ीस्त के इम्कान बहुत हैं

मिट्टी में नमी हो तो उभरते हैं निशाँ और

आँगन ही में ख़ुशबू को मुक़य्यद न करो तुम

परवाज़ से मिल जाएँगे इंसाँ को जहाँ और

GhairoN5 se mohabbat meN saNvarti6 hai zabaaN aur

With increasing intensity of emotions of love verse/suKhan blooms even more. With the love of others, expression/verse becomes even more beautiful.

The reflection of your memories in my eyes makes the ambience of (even festive) gatherings sorrowful.

The poet is remembering things that happened in the past. They are like shooting stars, fleeting memories. They make pleasant stories just like shooting stars brighten up the sky.

Maybe I am stretching but this could be a conversation between someone seeking help in getting an opportunity with someone who simply wants to brush them off saying that there are many possibilities in life. The protagonist protests – don’t tell me that there are many opportunities in life. When the ground is watered then signs of life emerge i.e. some help needs to be offered.

parvaaz3 se mil jaayeNge insaaN ko jahaaN aur

Do not confine fragrance to your courtyard. With flight humans can discover new worlds i.e. venture out and discover new worlds, do not hide your talents.
