مجھے یقین ہے

کہ جب بھی تاریخ کی عدالت میں

وقت لاۓ گا

آج کے بے ضمیر و  دیدہ  دلیر   قاتل کو

جس کا دامان  و   آستیں

خون بے گناہاں سے  تر  بتر    ہے

تو  نسل  آدم

وفور  نفرت  سے روۓ  قاتل پہ  تھوک دے گی

 

مگر  مجھے  اس  کا  بھی  یقیں ہے

کہ  کل  کی  تاریخ

نسل  آدم  سے  یہ  بھی  پوچھے  گی

اے مہذب  جہاں کی مخلوق

کل  تیرے  رو  برو  یہی  بے  ضمیر  قاتل

تیرے   قبیلے  کے  بے  گناہوں  کو

جب  تہہ تیغ  کر  رہا تھا

 

تو تو  تماشایوں  کی  صورت

خموش  و   بے  حس

درندگی  کے  مظاہرے  میں  شریک

کیوں  دیکھتی رہی  ہے

تری  یہ  سب  نفرتیں  کہاں  تھیں

بتا کہ اس ظلم کیش  قاتل  کی تیغ  براں میں

اور  تیری  مصلحت  کے  تیروں میں

فرق  کیا ہے

تو  سوچتا  ہوں

کہ  ہم  سبھی  کیا   جواب  دینگے

मुझे यक़ीं है

के जब भी तारीख़ की अदालत में

वक़्त लाएगा

आज के बे ज़मीर ओ दीदा दिलेर क़ातिल को

जिस का दामान ओ आस्तीं

ख़ून-ए-बेगुनाहौं से तर-ब-तर है

तो नस्ल-ए-आदम

वफ़ूर-ए-निफ़रत से रू-ए-क़ातिल पे थूक देगी

 

मगर मुझे इस का भी यक़ीं है

के कल की तारीख़

नस्ल-ए-आदम से ये भी पूछेगी

अए मोहज़्ज़िब जहाँ की मख़लूक़

कल तेरे रू ब रू यही बे ज़मीर क़ातिल

तेरे क़बीले के बेगुनाहौं को

जब तह-ए-तेग़ कर रहा था

 

तो तू तमाशाइयौं की सूरत

ख़मोश ओ बे-हिस्स

दरिंदगी के मुज़ाहेरे में शरीक

क्यूं देखती रही है

तेरी ये सुब निफ़्रतें कहाँ थीं

बता के इस ज़ुल्म केश क़ातिल की तेग़-ए-बुर्राँ में

और तेरी मस्लेहत के तीरौं में

फ़र्क़ क्या है?

तो सोचता हूँ

के हम सभी क्या जवाब देंगे

I am sure that when in the hall of justice, Time will bring today’s unrepentant and defiant killer, whose apron and sleeve are soaked in the blood of innocents, then the progeny of Adam, overwhelmed by disgust, will spit on the killer.

But I am also sure that tomorrow also History will ask the progeny of Adam, O creature of this civilized world, yesterday right in front of you when this unrepentant killer put the innocents of your tribe to the sword …

ke hum sabhi kya javaab deNge
1.spectators 2.like, similar to 3.silent 4.unfeeling 5.bestiality 6.demonstration 7.participating 8.hatred, anger, anguish 9.vicious 10.sharp knife 11.expedience, convenience 12.arrows 13.difference
… then why, like spectators, silent and unfeeling, as if participating in the demonstration of bestiality, were you silently watching. Where was your anguish then. Tell me, between the sharp knife of the viscious killer and the arrows of your indifference, what is the difference. That makes me think, how will we answer this question!
