ضرورت نہیں رہی ۔ خمار بارہ بنکوی

 

ایسا نہیں کہ اُن سے محبت نہیں رہی

جذبات میں وہ پہلی سی شِدّت نہیں رہی

 

ضعفِ قُویٰ نے آمدِ   پیری کی دی نوید

وہ دل نہیں رہا وہ طبیعت نہیں رہی

 

سر میں وہ اِنتظار کا سودا نہیں رہا

دل پر وہ دھڑکنوں کی حکومت نہیں رہی

 

کمزوریِ نِگاہ نے سنجیدہ کر دیا

جلووں سے چھیڑ چھاڑ کی عادت نہیں رہی

 

ہاتھوں سے اِنتقام لیا اِرتعاش نے

دامانِ یار سے کوئی نِسبت نہیں رہی

 

پیہم طوافِ کوچۂ جاناں کے دن گئے

پیروں میں چلنے پھرنے کی طاقت نہیں رہی

 

چہرے کو جھُرّیوں نے بھیانک بنا دیا

آئینہ دیکھنے کی بھی ہمت نہیں رہی

 

اللہ جانے موت کہاں مر گئی خمارؔ

اب مجھ کو زندگی کی ضرورت نہیں رہی

ज़रूरत नहीं रही – ख़ुमार बाराबंकवी

 

ऐसा नहीं के उन से मोहब्बत नहीं रही

जज़्बात में वो पहली सी शिद्दत नहीं रही

 

ज़ोफ़-ए-क़ुवा ने आमद-ए-पीरी की दी नवेद

वो दिल नहीं रहा वो तबीअत नहीं रही

 

सर में वो इंतिज़ार का सौदा नहीं रहा

दिल पर वो धड़कनों की हुकूमत नहीं रही

 

कमज़ोरी-ए-निगाह ने संजीदा कर दिया

जल्वों से छेड़-छाड़ की आदत नहीं रही

 

हाथों से इंतिक़ाम लिया इरतेआश ने

दामान-ए-यार से कोई निस्बत नहीं रही

 

पैहम तवाफ़-ए-कूचा-ए-जानाँ के दिन गए

पैरों में चलने फिरने की ताक़त नहीं रही

 

चेहरे को झुर्रियों ने भयानक बना दिया

आईना देखने की भी हिम्मत नहीं रही

 

अल्लाह जाने मौत कहाँ मर गई ख़ुमार

अब मुझ को ज़िंदगी की ज़रूरत नहीं रही
