پھر  برق  فروزاں  ہے  سرِ  وادئ  سینا

پھر  رنگ  پہ  ہے  شعلۂ  رخسارِ  حقیقت

پیغامِ  اجل  دعوتِ  دیدارِ  حقیقت

اے  دیدۂ  بینا

اب  وقت  ہے  دیدار  کا  دم  ہے  کہ  نہیں  ہے

اب  دشمنِ  جاں  چارہ  گرِ  کلفتِ  غم  ہے

گلزارِ  ارم  پرتوِ  صحرائے  عدم  ہے

پندارِ  جنوں

حوصلۂ  راہِ  عدم  ہے  کہ  نہیں  ہے

پھر  برق  فروزاں  ہے  سر  وادئ  سینا

اے  دیدۂ  بینا

پھر  دل  کو  مُصفّا  کرو

اس  لوح  پہ  شاید

مابینِ  من  و  تو  نیا  پیماں  کوئی  اُترے

اب  رسمِ  ستم  حکمتِ  خاصانِ  زمیں  ہے

تائیدِ  ستم  مصلحتِ  مفتیٔ  دیں  ہے

اب  صدیوں  کے  اقرارِ  اطاعت  کو  بدلنے

لازم  ہے  کہ  انکار  کا  فرماں  کوئی  اُترے

سنو  کہ  شاید  یہ  نورِ  صیقل

ہے  اُس  صحیفے  کا  حرفِ  اول

جو  ہر  کس  و  ناکسِ  زمیں  پر

دلِ  گدایانِ  اجمعیں  پر

اُتر  رہا  ہے  فلک  سے  اب  کے

سنو  کہ  اِس  حرفِ  لم  یزل  کے

ہمیں  تمہیں  بندگانِ  بے  بس

علیم  بھی  ہیں  خبیر  بھی  ہیں

سنو  کہ  ہم  بے  زبان  و  بے  کس

بشیر  بھی  ہیں  نظیر  بھی  ہیں

ہر  اک  اولی  الامر  کو  صدا  دو

کہ  اپنی  فردِ  عمل  سنبھالے

اٹھے  گا  جب  جمّ  سرفروشاں

پڑیں  گے  دار  و  رسن  کے  لالے

کوئی  نہ  ہوگا  کہ  جو  بچا  لے

جزا  سزا  سب  یہیں  پہ  ہوگی

یہیں  سے  اُٹّھے  گا  روزِ  محشر

یہیں  عذاب  و  ثواب  ہوگا

یہیں  پہ  روزِ  حساب  ہوگا

सर-ए वादी-ए सीना – फ़ैज़ अहमद फ़ैज़

फिर बर्क़ फ़रोज़ाँ है सर-ए वादी-ए सीना

फिर रंग पे है शोला-ए रुख़्सार-ए हक़ीक़त

पैग़ाम-ए अजल दावत-ए दीदार-ए हक़ीक़त

अए दीदा-ए बीना

अब वक़्त है दीदार का दम है के नहीं है

अब दुशमन-ए जाँ चारा-गर-ए कुल्फ़त-ए ग़म है

गुलज़ार-ए इरम परतव-ए सहरा-ए अदम है

पिंदार-ए जुनूँ

हौसला-ए राह-ए अदम है के नहीं है

फिर बर्क़ फ़रोज़ाँ है सर-ए वादी-ए सीना

अए दीदा-ए बीना

फिर दिल को मुसफ़्फ़ा करो

इस लौह पे शा’एद

माबैन-ए मन-ओ-तू नया पैमाँ कोई उतरे

अब रस्म-ए सितम हिकमत-ए ख़ासान-ए ज़मीं है

ता’ईद-ए सितम मस्लहत-ए मुफ़्ती-ए दीं है

अब सदियों के एक़्रार-ए इता’अत को बदलने

लाज़िम है के इन्कार का फ़रमाँ कोई उतरे

सुनो के शा’एद ये नूर-ए सैक़ल

है उस सहीफ़े का हर्फ़-ए अव्वल

जो हर कस-ओ-नाकस-ए ज़मीं पर

दिल-ए गदायान-ए अजमईं पर

उतर रहा है फ़लक से अब के

सुनो के इस हर्फ़-ए लम-यज़ल के

हमीं तुम्हीं बंदगान-ए बे-बस

अलीम भी हैं ख़बीर भी हैं

सुनो के हम बे-ज़बान-ओ-बेकस

बशीर भी हैं नज़ीर भी हैं

हर एक ऊलुल-अम्र को सदा दो

के अपनी फ़र्द-ए अमल सँभाले

उठेगा जब जम्म-ए सरफ़रोशाँ

पढेंगे दार-ओ-रसन के लाले

कोई न होगा के जो बचा ले

जज़ा सज़ा सब यहीं पे होगी

यहीं से उट्ठेगा रोज़-ए महशर

यहीं अज़ाब-ओ-सवाब होगा

यहीं पे रोज़-ए हिसाब होगा

This stirring call written for a previous filistiini-Zionist conflict applies in full force today. In print versions these appear as two separate nazm but I found a recited version on youtube that was a seemless combination in faiz’s voice. I felt it was even more powerful and am posting them as a single nazm.

This has reference to when moosa went up mount sinai to ask to see god. He was told that he would not be able to see god, but he insisted. There was a flash of lightning and he fainted. Once again, lightning flashes and shines on the top of the valley of sinai. Once again the flaming face/cheeks of truth are on colourful display giving a message of death/sacrifice and invitation to see the truth. O discerning eye, now is the time; do you have the courage to see the truth or not.

Now the healer of the distress of pain has turned into a killer. It is like the garden of heaven has become a reflection of the barren-ness of the desert, devoid of beauty and hope. O pride of passion, do you have the courage to take the path of sacrifice or not.

Once again, purify your heart. Perhaps on this tablet, between god and human a new promise, a new vision will come. This is a reference to the tablets with ten commandments that moosa is said to have brought down.

taa’iid5-e sitam2 maslehat6-e mufti7-e diiN8 hai    
1.tradition, practice 2.oppression 3.cleverness, scheme 4.special, priveleged, chosen 5.support, ratify 6.convenience, hidden agenda 7.law-giver 8.faith, belief
The scheme of the priveleged/chosen of the land has become the practice of oppression. Connivance with the oppressor has become the agenda of the law-giver of the faithful.

It is essential that a new edict of resistance descend (from the top of mount sinai/from god) so that the centuries old agreement of blind obedience be changed.

Listen, perhaps this cleansing light is but the first word of the book descending from the sky on all and sundry of this world, on the hearts of the crowd of the destitute.

Listen, that of this eternal word, you and I, helpless slaves, are themselves scholars and experts, aware of its meaning.

Listen, that we, the voiceless and the helpless maybe ourselves the harbingers/prophets of joy and exemplars of action.

Give a call to the powerful that they gather their list of deeds for when the crowd of the fearless will rise, the hanging platfrom and noose will not be far away, and there will be none to save you.
