دِل شکستہ لئے بیٹھا ہے اُمنگوں کا ہجوم
ایک ٹوٹے ہوئے پیمانے میں میخانہ ہے
آبلہ دِل کا تسلّی کے لئے ہے حسرت
یہی ساغر، یہی شیشہ، یہی پیمانہ ہے

चन्द लफ़्ज़ौं में यही इश्क़ का अफ़्साना है
ये जुनूं है के यहां तक मेरा बढ़ जाए जुनूं
हंस के दीवानगी कह दे के ये दीवाना है
दिल शिकस्ता लिए बैठा है उमंगौं का हुजूम
एक टूटे हुए पैमाने में मैख़ाना है
आबला दिल का तसल्ली के लिए है हस्रत
यही साग़र, यही शीशा, यही पैमाना है
