جادۂ نور ۔ سنت درشن سنگھ درشنؔ

ظلمتِ دہر کا ہر داغ مِٹانے کے لئے
عرش سے بارشِ انوار ہوئی آج کے دن
محفلِ نور جمی دل کے سیہ خانے میں
قسمت اِنسان کی بیدار ہوئی آج کے دن

جادۂ منزلِ عِرفاں میں اُجالا جاگا
دہر میں حضرتِ نانک کا ہوا آج ظہور
مطلعِ جاں کو مِلی ہے ابدی تابانی
نور میں ڈوب گئی وادیٔ تہذیب و شعور

محفلِ زیست میں وہ ساقیِ عرفاں آیا
جس نے میخانۂ اسرار کے در کھول دئے
ربطِ افراد سے توحید مکمّل ہو گی
تھا یہ پیغام پریشان زمانے کے لئے

بزمِ گیتی میں کیا پرچمِ توحید بلند
اُس کے دم سے ہوا اونچا بشریت کا مقام
نگہِ ساقیِ میخانۂ اُلفت کے طفیل
تِشنہ کامانِ محبت کو ملے جام پہ جام

حق و دانائی کا مینار تھی ذاتِ نانک
اُس نے تاریکیِٔ عالم کو تجلّی بخشی
منسلک رشتۂ اُلفت میں کیا قوموں کو
مضطرب دل کو محبت کی تسلّی بخشی

بزمِ نانک میں کہاؓ چھوٹے بڑے کی تقسیم
بزمِ نانک ہے اخوّت کی، مساوات کی بزم
آؤ اِس بزمِ محبّت میں ادب سے بیٹھیں
ہاں یہی بزم ہے، ہر نسل کی، ہر ذات کی بزم

وقت نے پھینکی تھیں ظُلمت کی کمندیں لیکن
تیرا خورشیدِ جہاں تاب درخشندہ ہے
نور ہی نور ہے پیغامِ ہداہت تیرا
کل بھی تابندہ تھا اور آج بھی تابندہ ہے

अर्श से बारिश-ए अन्वार हुई आज के दिन
महफ़िल-ए नूर जमी दिल के सियह ख़ाने में
क़िस्मत इंसान की बेदार हुई आज के दिन

जादा-ए मंज़िल-ए इर्फ़ां में उजाला जागा
दहर में हज़्रत-ए नानक का हुआ आज ज़हूर
मतला-ए जां को मिली है अबदी ताबानी
नूर में डूब गई वादी-ए तहज़ीब ओ शा’ऊर

महफ़िल-ए ज़ीस्त में वो साक़ि-ए इर्फ़ां आया
जिस ने मै-ख़ाना-ए अस्रार के दर खोल दिए
रब्त-ए अफ़राद से तौहीद मुकम्मल हो गी
था ये पैग़ाम परेशान ज़माने के लिए

बज़्म-ए गेती में किया परचम-ए तौहीद बुलंद
उस के दम से हुआ ऊंचा बशरिय्यत का मक़ाम
निगह-ए साक़ि-ए मैख़ाना-ए उल्फ़त के तुफ़ैल
तिश्ना कामान-ए मोहब्बत को मिले जाम पे जाम

हक़ ओ दानाई का मीनार थी ज़ात-ए नानक
उस ने तारीकी-ए आलम को तजल्ली बख़्शी
मुन्सलिक रिश्ता-ए उल्फ़त में किया क़ौमौं को
मुज़्तरिब दिल को मोहब्बत की तसल्ली बख़्शी

बज़्म-ए नानक में कहां छोटे बड़े की तक़्सीम
बज़्म-ए नानक है उख़व्वत कि, मसावात की बज़्म
आओ इस बज़्म-ए मोहब्बत में अदब से बैठें
हां यही बज़्म है, हर नस्ल की, हर ज़ात की बज़्म

वक़्त ने फैंकी थीं ज़ुल्मत की कमन्दें लैकिन
तेरा ख़ुर्शीद-ए जहां-ताब दरख़्शन्दा है
नूर ही नूर है पैग़ाम-ए हिदायत तेरा
कल भी ताबिन्दा था और आज भी ताबिन्दा है

To erase every stain of darkness from this world, a rain of light-rays descended from the skies today. In the dark chamber of the heart, an assembly of light gathered. The fate of humanity woke up today.

The server of the wine of mystic knowledge came into the (gathering of life) world. He opened wide the door of the secrets of the tavern (of mysticism). The relationship between people completes/perfects one-ness of humanity/universe. This was his message to the scattered/divided world.

He raised the banner of universalism high among the people of this world. Through the power of his teaching the status of humanism improved. Because of the glance of the saaqi of the tavern of universal love, those that were thirsty for love, received goblet after goblet.

The person/being/personality of nanak was a tower of virtue and wisdom. He granted light to the darkness of this world. He connected all communities through the relationship of love. He granted solace of love to restless hearts.

How can there be distinction of high and low in the gathering of nanak. This group is a gathering of brotherhood and equality. Come, let us sit respectfully in this gathering of love. Yes, this is the only gathering for every tribe and every caste.

The times tried to throw snares of darkness on you, but your world-warming sun remained shining bright. The message of your teaching is all brightness and hope. It was bright yesterday and it still shines today.
