haNgaam2-e bahaaraaN jab ye hai anjaam3-e bahaaraaN kya hoga
1.wilderness 2.time, duration, happening 3.result
If this can be called a garden, then I am perplexed what the wilderness will be like. If spring looks like this, then what will be the end of such a spring.

2
saaqi ke dayaar-e-rahmat1 meN hindu-o-musalmaaN kya hoga
is bazm2-e paak-nihadaaN3 meN aaluda-e-imaaN4 kya hoga
1.domain of benevolence 2.gathering 3.pure/virtuous nature 4.pollution of faith
The tavern is a liberal space open to all. saaqi is the wine-server at the tavern and is just to all, treating everyone equally. Hence this is a gathering of a virtuous nature. The poet is asking a rhetorical question … the saaqi in her abode of benevolence, does not differentiate between hindu and muslim. What is it that can pollute the faith of such a virtuous place. I speculate that he is hoping that the answer is “nothing” and that the fair domain of the saaqi will be acceptable to all.

This is a fight (for secularism/pluralism) that we will have to fight even if every leaf bleeds. If the rose is scared of thorns, how can it be the king of the garden. Thus, the thorns are religious extremists and the rose is the secularist/pluralist.
