پیار کا خون ہوا کیوں یہ سمجھنے کے لیے

میرے دکھ درد کا تجھ پر ہو اثر کچھ ایسا

koi batlaaye kahaaN jaa ke nahaaya jaaye There is a flowing river of fire, in the Ganges here and in jehlum too. Someone tell me, where to go to take a bath. The concept of bathing in a river to wash away one’s sins is central here. When fire is raging in the rivers where can we go for atonement.

har aNdhere ko ujaale meN bulaaya jaaye ‘andhera/darkness’ here stands for conspiracies and secrets ‘ujaala’ for open-ness. The idea is that communal harmony is being destroyed by secretive and conspiratorial plans by “leaders”. To understand this we have to bring it out in the open, subject it to the light of truth.

Song is cloudy, Ghazal silent and rubaaii sorrowful. Under these conditions we should call neeraj (the poet) to recite his verse.
