तुझ को अपने करम की हद पे ग़ुरूर

मुझ को बिग्ढे हुए नसीब पे नाज़

अब कहां जाएगा ये ता’एर-ए दिल

आस्मां तक तो हो चुकी पर्वाज़

दूसरे से मुझे नहीं निस्बत

आप बंदा हूं आप बंदा-नवाज़

यूं फ़रिश्ता बने से क्या हासिल

पहले ख़ल्क़-ए ख़ुदा में हो मुम्ताज़

ख़ंदा-ए गुल को देखने वाले

है यहीं से म’आल का आग़ाज़

यूं तो शा’एर फ़लक हज़ारौं हैं

A collection of his Ghazal was published posthumously in 1982 by his shaagird. The book mentions beKhud dehlavi (1863-1955) as his ‘inspirational ustaad’ and dedicates it to him. He was a minor official in the dehli court system. In the book he describes his encounter with beKhud dehlavi when he (falak) was still a young man. The book says that he started composing in 1940. He has several Ghazal composed in the zamin of Ghalib, this one of a series of Ghair mudarraf Ghazal with the same qaafiya ‘…aaz’ in the zamin of ‘maiN huN apni shikast ki aavaaz’.
