Click here for background and on any passage for word meanings and explanatory discussion. panDit maharaj kishan nadiim was a third generation poet of faarsi and urdu. His early taKhKhalus given to him by his grandfather was maftuun. He is reported to have changed it to nadiim in 1911. Beyond this I don’t know much about him. These are fragments from two different Ghazal published in a booklet about his three generations. Both selections have the same radeef and qaafiya as Ghalib’s ‘shooKhi-e tahriir ka’. This post is linked to Ghalib naqsh-e qadam and also Ghalib aur kashmiiri panDit.
