اقرار کی باتیں کریں ۔ سردار اُدے سنگھ شائقؔ

عشق کی اور عشق کے آزار کی باتیں کریں

وہ کبھی آئیں تو قلبِ زار کی باتیں کریں

خشمگیں نظریں سُنائیں مجھ کو پیغامِ وصال

پردۂ اِنکار میں اقرار کی باتیں کریں

۳

قصۂ حسنِ ازل تو آسمانی چیز ہے

اب ذرا سنسار میں سنسار کی باتیں کریں

کاروباریِ عشق کے جادو یہاں چلتے نہیں

یہ محبّت ہے رسن کی دار کی باتیں کریں

۵

جس کی جنبش سے بدل سکتی ہے تقدیرِ حیات

اُس نگاہِ محرمِ اسرار کی باتیں کریں

جا چکا عہدِ اسیری آ گیا وقتِ نجات

اب قفس کو پھونک کر گلزار کی باتیں کریں

جی میں آتا ہے کہ پہلے جھوم جائیں شوق سے

پھر اجازت دیں تو اُن سے پیار کی باتیں کریں

حسن کی وہ جلوہ ریزی صبح دم بالائے بام

آؤ شائقؔ اُس تجلّی زار کی باتیں کریں

एक़्रार की बातें करें – सरदार उदय सिंघ शा’एक़

इश्क़ की और इश्क़ के आज़ार की बातें करें

वो कभी आएं तो क़ल्ब-ए ज़ार की बातें करें

ख़श्मगीं नज़्रें सुनाएं मुझ को पैग़ाम-ए विसाल

पर्दा-ए इनकार में एक़्रार की बातें करें

क़िस्सा-ए हुस्न-ए अज़ल तो आसमानी चीज़ है

अब ज़रा संसार में संसार की बातें करें

कारोबारी-ए इश्क़ के जादू यहां चलते नहीं

ये मोहब्बत है रसन की दार की बातें करें

जिस की जुंबिश से बदल सकती है तक़्दीर-ए हयात

उस निगाह-ए महरम-ए अस्रार की बातें करें

जा चुका अहद-ए असीरी आ चुका वक़्त-ए नजात

अब क़फ़स को फूंक कर गुल्ज़ार की बातें करें

जी में आता है के पहले झूम जाएं शौक़ से

फिर इजाज़त दें तो उन से प्यार की बातें करें

हुस्न की जल्वा-रेज़ी सुबह-दम बाला-ए बाम

आओ शा’एक़ उस तजल्ली-ज़ार की बातें करें

vo kabhi aa’eN to qalb2-e zaar3 ki baateN kareN

It is not specific who the poet is addressing. He may be addressing the world in general or he may be talking to fellow lovers who suffer the same fate as he does and who sympathize with each other. The story of eternal beauty is a celestial thing. In this world, let us talk about the affairs of the world i.e., not about eternal (divine) beauty, but the beauty of the beloved.

karobaari1-e ishq ke jaadu2 yahaaN chalte nahiN
ye mohabbat hai rasan3 ki daar4 ki baateN kareN

Superficial declarations of love will not do the trick here i.e., it will not work. This is love, let us talk of rope and hanging platform i.e., to be successful in love you have to be ready to give up your life.

us nigaah5-e mahram6-e asraar7 ki baateN kareN

A single movement of her eyes can change the fate/life (of the poet/lover). Let us talk of the (beloved’s) glance that is familiar with (is an expert in) the mysteries of glances.

ab qafas5 ko phooNk6 kar gulzaar7 ki baateN kareN

This could be about life in this world and the beauty of after-life. The duration in this material world can be considered bondage of the soul. The duration of bondage is coming to an end and the time of deliverance is at hand. Now, let us burn this prison (the body) and blow it in the wind and talk of the garden/paradise (after-life).

phir ijaazat2 deN to un se pyaar ki baateN kareN

My heart feels like I should sway joyfully in the intensity of desire (for the beloved) and then if she permits (because she likes my joyful swaying) I can talk to her of love.
