جئے جا رہا ہوں میں ۔ سردار اُدے سنگھ شائقؔ

غم کی شرابِ تلخ پئے جا رہا ہوں میں

ہے زندگی یہی تو جئے جا رہا ہوں میں

موہوم آرزوؤں کے جلوؤں میں ڈوب کر

ہستی کو اک فریب دئے جا رہا ہوں میں

پُر درد ہے حقیقتِ ہستی کی داستاں

تقدیر سے نباہ کئے جا رہا ہوں میں

کس درجہ دردناک ہے انجامِ آرزو

مرنے کا اہتمام کئے جا رہا ہوں میں

شائقؔ جہاں نہ دیر و حرم میں ہو امتیاز

اُس دہر کی تلاش کئے جا رہا ہوں میں

जिये जा रहा हुं मैं – सरदार उदय सिंघ शा’एक़

ग़म की शराब-ए तल्ख़ पिये जा रहा हुं मैं

है ज़िंदगी यही हो जिये जा रहा हुं मैं

मौहूम आर्ज़ूऔं के जल्वौं में डूब कर

हस्ती को एक फ़रेब दिये जा रहा हुं मैं

पुर-दर्द है हक़ीक़त-ए हस्ती कि दास्तां

तक़्दीर से निबाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

किस दर्जा दर्द-नाक है अंजाम-ए आर्ज़ू

मरने का एहतेमाम किये जा रहा हुं मैं

शा’एक़ जहां न दैर ओ हरम में हो इम्तियाज़

उस दहर कि तलाश किये जा रहा हुं मैं

Gham ki sharaab-e talKh1 piye jaa raha huN maiN
hai zindagi yahi to jiye jaa raha huN maiN

I keep drinking the bitter wine of sorrow (that is served up to me by ill-fate). If this is what is called life then you can consider that I keep living.

mauhoom1 aarzuoN2 ke jalvoN3 meN Doob kar
hasti4 ko ek fareb5 diye jaa raha huN maiN 
1.illusory, imaginary, beyond reach 2.desires 3.manifestation, image 4.being, existence, life 5.deception
I keep deceiving life drowned in illusionary/unrealizable desires (which rationally I know that cannot be fulfilled).

The reality of life is very painful (that is the result of bad faith). I keep trying to get along with fate.
