किसी के इश्क़ में दिल बे-क़रार कौन करे

वही गुनाह बता बार बार कौन करे

अगर सफ़र में सुकूँ है किसी मुसाफ़िर को

कहीं ठहर के सुकूँ तार तार कौन करे

फ़रेबियों में परेशाँ है सब के सब रिश्ते

यहाँ वफ़ाओं पे अब ए’तेबार कौन करे

मोहब्बतें तो यहाँ चंद रोज़ होती हैं

तमाम उम्र का आख़िर क़रार कौन करें

गले लगा के करें हर ख़ता मुआ’फ़ मिरी

बग़ैर माँ के भला इतना प्यार कौन करे

जो ख़ौफ़ बरपा है वो दूर सब की आँखों से

तेरे सिवा मिरे परवर्दिगार कौन करे

kisi ke ishq meN dil be-qaraar1 kaun kare
vahi gunaah2 bata baar baar kaun kare

The beloved is by definition, fickle and faithless. Then, why should one fall in love and make his/her heart restless. Pray tell me, why should one make the same mistake again and again.

agar safar1 meN sukooN2 hai kisi musaafir3 ko
kahiN Thahar ke sukooN taar-taar4 kaun kare   
1.journey 2.satisfaction, pleasure 3.seeker, traveler 4.tear apart, shred
I am not sure what she means other than the literal interpretation. I choose to interpret it as follows … The seeker (for truth or for love) finds pleasure in the journey. Stopping anywhere (stopping the search) robs him/her of that pleasure (shredding it). Thus, why would anyone stop their journey and shred their pleasure of constant search.

yahaaN vafaaoN4 pe ab e’tebaar5 kaun kare

It seems all human/worldly relationships are among people who will deceive. How can anyone then, believe in the word/fidelity of anyone else.

tamaam3 umr4 ka aaKhir5 qaraar6 kaun kareN

Here (meaning in this world) love is but for a few days. Why would anyone then make a life-long commitment.

gale lagaa ke kareN har Khataa1 mu’aaf2 meri
baGhair3 maaN ke bhalaa itna pyaar kaun kare  
1.transgression, offence 2.pardon 3.without – used here to mean ‘except for’
With an embrace, she forgives all my offences. Except for a mother, who else will show such love.
