پھر غم کو رو بہ راہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

دیکھا ہے ذرّے ذرّے میں میں نے جمالِ دوست

ہر ذرّے کو گواہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

وہ آئیں یا نہ آئیں مگر اُن کے شوق میں

آنکھوں کو فرشِ راہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

ہر چند شرم سے وہ اُٹھاتے نہیں نظر

آمادۂ نگاہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

اے رحمتِ تمام مرا اعتماد دیکھ

ہر لحظہ اک گناہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

انجامِ کارِ عشق ہے اک آہِ جاں گداز

عالم کو انتباہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

اُن کی نگاہِ ناز کو خود چھیڑ چھیڑ کر

اک تیرِ بے پناہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

بے تیرے ہوں بھی یا کہ نہیں تیری جاں سے دور

ہر راہ سے گزر کے ملا ہے یہ راستہ

اب دل کی دل سے راہ کیے جا رہا ہوں میں

رہ رہ کے رکھ رہے ہیں مرے دل پہ ہاتھ وہ

اپنی نگاہِ ناز کو تُو دل بنا کے دیکھ

سو بار اُس کو دیکھ کے سو بار ہی جنوںؔ

यूं आह पर जो आह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

फिर ग़म को रू-ब-राह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

देखा है ज़र्रे ज़र्रे में मैं ने जमाल-ए दोस्त

हर ज़र्रे को गवाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

वो आएं या न आएं मगर उन के शौक़ में

आंखौं को फ़र्श-ए राह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

हरचंद शर्म से वो उठाते नहीं नज़र

आमादा-ए निगाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

अए रहमत-ए तमाम मेरा ए’तेमाद देख

हर लहज़ा एक गुनाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

अंजाम-ए कार-ए इश्क़ है एक आह-ए जां-गुदाज़

आलम को इंतेबाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

उन की निगाह-ए नाज़ को ख़ुद छेढ छेढ कर

एक तीर-ए बे पनाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

बे तेरे हुं भी या के नहीं तेरी जां से दूर

इस में भी इश्तबाह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

हर राह से गुज़र के मिला है ये रास्ता

अब दिल कि दिल से राह किये जा रहा हुं मैं

Early education in arabi and faarsi as well as urdu, was traditional and at home. Orphaned early, he was brought up by an uncle who also passed away. He trained in accountancy and moved to hyderabad with the encouragement of his brother; progressed steadily to become Assistant Financial Secretary. With the early passing of his wife, he devoted himself to his children and their education and expressed his creative talent in writing urdu poetry. His Ghazal have layers of mystic/sufi thought intertwined with romantic and religious themes. After his passing in 1956 but his diivaan remained in the family for a long time, only as a collection organized by radeef. in his own handwriting. ‘aaNkhoN ko farsh-e raah karna’ – literally – spread eyes on the floor – is an expression meaning to prepare to receive someone with great love and respect. Thus, whether she will come or not, I don’t know, but in the intense desire to receive her, I spread my eyes on the floor of the path.

‘rahmat-e tamaam’ refers to the kindness/forgiveness of god. The poet is so confident of god’s forgiveness that he is committing sins every moment.

The poet/lover following the tradition of love, likes/values pain. It has become his nature. He is bound by this nature. So spreads thorns in his own path (to keep experiencing pain). He is changing flowers in his path into thorns.
