اے جانِ نغمہ جہاں سوگوار کب سے ہے

ترے لئے یہ زمیں بے قرار کب سے ہے

ہجومِ شوق سرِ رہ گزار کب سے ہے

گزر بھی جا کہ ترا انتظار کب سے ہے

 

نہ تابناکیِٔ رُخ ہے نہ کاکلوں کا ہجوم

ہے ذرّہ ذرّہ پریشاں کلی کلی مغموم

ہے کل جہاں متعفن ہوائیں سب مسموم

گزر بھی جا کہ ترا انتظار کب سے ہے

 

رخِ حیات پہ کاکل کی برہمی ہی نہیں

نگار دہر میں انداز مریمی ہی نہیں

مسیح و خِضر کی کہنے کو کچھ کمی ہی نہیں

گزر بھی جا کہ ترا انتظار کب سے ہے

 

حیات بخش ترانے اسیر ہیں کب سے

گلوئے زہرہ میں  پیوست تیر ہیں کب سے

قفس میں بند ترے ہم صفیر ہیں کب سے

گزر بھی جا کہ ترا انتظار کب سے ہے

 

حرم کے دوش پہ عقبیٰ کا دام ہے اب تک

سروں میں دین کا سودائے خام ہے اب تک

توہمات کا آدم غلام ہے اب تک

گزر بھی جا کہ ترا انتظار کب سے ہے

 

ابھی دماغ پہ قحبائے سیم و زر ہے سوار

ابھی رکی ہی نہیں تیشہ زن کے خون کی دھار

شمیمِ عدل سے مہکیں یہ کوچہ و بازار

रुख़-ए-हयात पे काकुल की बरहमी ही नहीं

निगार-ए-दहर में अंदाज़-ए-मरयामी ही नहीं

मसीह ओ ख़िज़्र की कहने को कुछ कमी ही नहीं

गुज़र भी जा कि तिरा इंतिज़ार कब से है

 

हयात-बख़्श तराने असीर हैं कब से

गुलू-ए-ज़ेहरा में पैवस्त तीर हैं कब से है

क़फ़स में बंद तिरे हम-सफ़ीर हैं कब से

गुज़र भी जा कि तिरा इंतिज़ार कब से है

 

हरम के दोश पे उक़्बा का दाम है अब तक

सरों में दीन का सौदा-ए-ख़ाम है अब तक

तवहहुमात का आदम ग़ुलाम है अब तक

अभी दिमाग़ पे क़हबा-ए-सीम-ओ-ज़र है सवार

अभी रुकी ही नहीं तेशा-ज़न के ख़ून की धार

शमीम-ए-अदल से महकें ये कूचा ओ बाज़ार
