جوش کے بعد ۔ جگن ناتھ آزاد

 

ہمنشیں پوچھ نہ آزاد سے تو، کیا ہوگا

عالمِ انجمنِ دیدہ وراں جوش کے بعد

ہوگی اِس طرح سے برہم کہ جمے گی نہ کبھی

آج کی محفلِ صاحب نظراں جوش کے بعد

 

جانتے ہیں ادب و شعر کا ہوگا جو نصیب

ہم کو معلوم ہے انجامِ زباں جوش کے بعد

یہ بھی کہنا نہیں آسان ملیگا کہ نہیں

ادب و فن کا کوئی نام و نشاں جوش کے بعد

 

ایک آوازِ فغاں ہوگی لبِ اُردو پر

سینہ شعر سے اُٹھیگا دھواں جوش کے بعد

ذہن و افکار پہ چھائے گی یقیں کی ظلمت

سرد ہو جائے گی قِندیلِ گماں جوش کے بعد

 

تشنہ لب فکر اندھیرے میں بھٹکتا ہوگا

مضطرب شوق نہ پائے گا اماں جوش کے بعد

صحنِ گلزار سے روتی ہوئی جائے گی بہار

مسکراتی ہوئی آئے گی خزاں جوش کے بعد

 

حسرتِ دید میں آ آ کے پریشاں ہوگا

سرِ کہسار گھٹاؤں کا دھواں جوش کے بعد

سرِ مئے خانہ سے آ آ کے پلٹ جائے گا

پے بہ پے سلسلۂ ابرِ رواں جوش کے بعد

 

کچھ بڑی بات نہیں ہے جو شکستہ ہو جائے

بزم میں حوصلۂ  پیرِ مغاں جوش کے بعد

اپنی تقدیر پہ فریاد کریں گے شب و روز

مئے دیرینہ و معشوقِ جواں جوش کے بعد

 

دلبراں، گلبدناں، سیم تناں، ماہ وشاں

اُن کو دیکھے گی نظر نالہ کُناں جوش کے بعد

کیا خبر عالمِ بیچارگیٔ حُسن ہو کیا

کیا کہوں بے کسیِٔ عشقِ جواں جوش کے بعد

 

لیلیِٔ شعر کے لب پر یہ سوال آئے گا

کون ہے آج مرا مرتبہ داں جوش کے بعد

دے سکا کوئی جو تسکین تو دے گا اُس کو

فقط آزاد کا اندازِ  بیاں جوش کے بعد

जोश के बाद – जगन नाथ आज़ाद

 

हम नशीं पूच्छ ना आज़ाद से तू, क्या होगा

आलम-ए अंजुमन-ए दीदा वरां जोश के बाद

होगी इस तरह से बरहम के जमेगी ना कभी

आज की महफ़िल-ए साहिब नज़राँ जोश के बाद

 

जानते हैं अदब ओ शेर का होगा जो नसीब

हम को मालूम है अंजाम-ए ज़बां जोश के बाद

ये भी कहना नहीं आसान मिलेगा के नहीं

अदब ओ फ़न का कोइ नाम ओ निशाँ जोश के बाद

 

एक आवाज़-ए फ़ुग़ां होगी लब-ए उरदू पर

सीना-ए शेर से उट्ठेग धुआं जोश के बाद

ज़हन ओ अफ़कार पे छाये गी यक़ीं की ज़ुलमत

सर्द हो जाएगी क़िंदील-ए गुमां जोश के बाद

 

तिशना लब फ़िक्र अंधेरे में भटक्ता होगा

मुज़तरिब शौक़ ना पाएगा अमां जोश के बाद

सहन-ए गुलज़ार से रोती हुई जाएगी बहार

मुस्कुराती हुई आएगी ख़िज़ाँ जोश के बाद

 

हसरत-ए दीद में आ आ के परेशां होगा

सर-ए कोहसार घटाओं का धुआं जोश के बाद

सर-ए मैख़ाना से आ आ के पलट जाएगा

पै बा पै सिलसिला-ए अब्र-ए रवां जोश के बाद

 

कुच्छ बड़ी बात नहीं है जो शिकस्ता हो जाए

बज़्म में हौस्ला-ए पीर-ए मुग़ां जोश के बाद

अपनी तक़दीर पे फ़रयाद करें गे शब ओ रोज़

मै-ए देरीना ओ माशूक़-ए जवां जोश के बाद

 

दिल्बरां, गुल्बदनां, सीम तनां, माह वशां

उन को देखेगी नज़र नाला कुनां जोश के बाद

क्या ख़बर आलम-ए बेचारगी-ए हुस्न हो क्या

क्या कहूं बेकसी-ए इश्क़-ए जवां जोश के बाद

 

लैली-ए शे’र के लब पर ये सवाल आएगा

कौन है आज मेरा मर्तबा दां जोश के बाद

दे सका कोइ जो तासकीन तो देगा उस को

फ़क़त आज़ाद का अंदाज़-ए बयां जोश के बाद

The sound of wailing will rise from the lips of urdu. Smoke will rise from the bosom of verse, after josh. The darkness of certainty/faith will engulf mind and reason. The lamp of questioning/scepticism will be put out, after josh.

In urdu poetic tradition rain bearing clouds create a romantic ambience conducive to revelry and drinking. Thus the mist of the clouds comes and peeps over the hilltop, longing for a glimpse of josh to begin festivities, but not seeing him it scatters without effect. A long line of clouds comes to the door of the tavern and turns back, not seeing josh.
