اِک پریم پُجاری آیا ہے چرنوں میں دھیان لگانے کو

بھگوان تمہاری مورت پر شردّھا کے پھول چڑھانے کو

وہ پریم کا طوفاں دل میں اُٹھا، کہ ضبط کا یارا ہی نہ رہا

آنکھوں میں اشک امنڈ آئے پریمی کا حال بتانے کو

تم دیوکی مات کے پیارے ہو، تم نند کی آنکھ کے تارے ہو

تم ننگے پیروں آتے ہو، بھگتوں کا مان بڑھانے کو

منجدھار میں جیون نیّا ہے، آنکھوں میں کرشن کنہیّا ہے

بھگوان خبر لو گے پھر کب، نِربل کے کشٹ مٹانے کو

منموہن جلد پدھارو تم، بھارت کا حال سدھارو تم

اِس ڈوبتے ملک کے بیڑے کو، منجدھار سے پار لگانے کو

بیداد کے لب پر تالے ہیں، اور قلب و جگر میں چھالے ہیں

اِک اپنی شکلِ پُر غم ہے، افسانۂ درد سنانے کو

کچھ اپنا وعدہ یاد کرو، کلجُگ میں جنم کنہیّا لو

آغوش میں مات جسودھا کی، بھگتوں کو شکل دِکھانے کو

آنکھوں سے خون ٹپکتا ہے سینہ پر خنجر چلتا ہے

من موہن جلد خبر لینا دینوں کی جان بچانے کو

فُرقت میں تمہاری قلب کے ٹکڑے آنکھوں سے بہہ جاتے ہیں

اے کرشن مراری آؤ بھی روتوں کی دھیر بندھانے کو

گوکُل میں شیام نکل آؤ مُرلی کی ٹیر سنانے کو

एक प्रेम पुजारी आया है चरनों में ध्यान लगाने को

भगवान तुम्हारी मूरत पर श्रधा के फूल चढ़ाने को

वो प्रेम का तूफ़ाँ दिल में उठा कि ज़ब्त का यारा ही न रहा

आँखों में अश्क उमँड आए प्रेमी का हाल बताने को

तुम देवकि मात के प्यारे हो, तुम नंद कि आंख के तारे हो

तुम नंगे पैरों धाने हो भगतों का मान बढ़ाने को

मंजधार में जीवन नय्या है, आंखौं में क्रिश्न कनहय्या है

भगवान ख़बर लोगे फिर कब, निर्बल के कष्ट मिटाने को

मनमोहन जल्द पधारो तुम, भारत का हाल सुधारो तुम

इस डूब्ते मुल्क के बेढे को, मंजधार से पार लगाने को

बेदाद के लब पर ताले हैं, और क़ल्ब ओ जिगर में छाले हैं

एक अपनी शक्ल-ए पुर ग़म है, अफ़्साना-ए दर्द सुनाने को

कुछ अपना वादा याद करो, कलजुग में जनम कनहय्या लो

आग़ोश में मात जसोधा कि, भग्तौं को शक्ल दिखाने को

आँखों से ख़ून टपकता है सीने पर ख़ंजर चलता है

मन-मोहन जल्द ख़बर लेना दीनों की जान बचाने को

फ़ुर्क़त में तुम्हारी क़ल्ब के टुकड़े आँखों से बह जाते हैं

ऐ कृष्ण मुरारी आओ भी रातों को धेर बँधाने को

His first compositions were accepted for publication in a newsmagazine, “sanaatan dharm prachaarak”, which was published in urdu!!!!! He sought to be and became a disciple of syed vaheeduddin salim who had been literary secretary to syed ahmad KhaaN. He wrote Ghazal in chaste urdu and many fiery nazm in urdu mixed with local dialect in support of the independence movement.
