مدح علی ۔ مہندر سنگھ بیدی سحرؔ

حامی وفا کا دُشمنِ جور و جفا ہے تُو
باطِل شِکن ابھی ہے، ابھی حق نُما ہے تُو
کیا کر سکیں گے دُشمنِ ایمان و آگہی
ہر بیشۂ حیات میں شیرِ خدا ہے تُو

ہم پر جو سایۂ شۂ عالی جناب ہے
فِکرِ اَجل نہ کچھ غمِ روزِ حِساب ہے
سرسبز کِشتِ دِل ہے تو شاداب نخلِ جاں
اِک بارشِ کرم نگۂ بُو تُراب ہے

بحرِ عطا ہے گوہرِ جُود و سخا ہے تُو
شمعِ یقین، مشعلِ دِل، رہنُما ہے تُو
کیا خوف اِنقلابِ زمانہ کا اے سحرؔ
مُشکل اگر ہے زیست تو مُشکل کُشا ہے تُو

جو پرتوِ تنویرِ پیامِ اَزلی تھے
جو شیرِ خدا، ابرِ کرم، لم یزلی تھے
جو لوحِ شجاعت پہ سحرؔ حرفِ جلی تھے
حقّا کے علی تھے، وہ علی تھے، وہ علی تھے

हामी वफ़ा का दुश्मन-ए जोर ओ जफ़ा है तू
बातिल शिकन अभी है, अभी हक़-नुमा है तू
क्या कर सकेंगे दुश्मन-ए ईमान ओ आगही
हर बेशा-ए हयात में शेर-ए ख़ुदा है तू

हम पर जो साया-ए शह-ए आली जनाब है
फ़िक्र-ए अजल न कुछ ग़म-ए रोज़-ए हिसाब है
सरसब्ज़ किश्त-ए दिल है तो शादाब नख़्ल-ए जां
एक बारिश-ए करम निगह-ए बू-तुराब है

बहर-ए अता है, गौहर-ए जूद ओ सख़ा है तू
शमा-ए यक़ीन, मश’अल-ए दिल, रहनुमा है तू
क्या ख़ौफ़ इन्क़ेलाब-ए ज़माना का अए सहर
मुश्किल अगर है ज़ीस्त तो मुश्किल कुशा है तू

जो परतव-ए तन्वीर-ए पयाम-ए अज़ली थे
जो शेर-ए ख़ुदा, अब्र-ए करम, लम-यज़ली थे
जो लौह-ए शुजा’अत पे सहर हर्फ़-ए जली थे
हक़्क़ा के अली थे, वो अली थे, वो अली थे

You are the protector of faith, the enemy of cruelty and oppression, conqueror of evil and exponent of Truth. The enemies of faith wisdom will not be able to do any harm because you are like the lion of god, protecting us from all dangers in life.

fikr4-e ajal5 na kuchh Gham6-e roz-e-hisaab7 hai
sarsabz8 kisht9-e dil hai to shaadaab9 naKhl-e-jaaN10
ek baarish-e-karam11 nigah12-e buu-turaab13 hai 1.shadow, protection 2.king, lord 3.noble person 4.worry/fear 5.death, dying 6.sorrow/concern 7.day of reckoning 8.lush 9.cultivation, field 9.fresh, green 10.tree of the soul 11.rain of blessings 12.glance 13.another name of ali
Because we are under the protection of that noble lord, we have no fear of death or concern about the day of judgement. The field of the heart (love) is lush, the tree of the soul is green. Such is the rain of blessings of a fleeting glance of ali.
