روشنی نہیں ہوتی ۔ شاہد صدیقی
جب حقیقتِ غم سے آگہی نہیں ہوتی
ضبط بھی نہیں ہوتا ، آہ بھی نہیں ہوتی
ہیں فراق کی راتیں اک طلسمِ محرومی
چاند جگمگاتا ہے ، چاندنی نہیں ہوتی
رہنما سمجھتی ہے ، راہ كے اندھیروں کو
جس نظر میں منزل کی روشنی نہیں ہوتی
آپ سے جدا ہو کر میرا تجربہ یہ ہے
زندگی کی ہر ساعت زندگی نہیں ہوتی
ظلمتِ شبِ غم میں دِل کا خون کرنا ہے
صرف آہ کرنے سے روشنی نہیں ہوتی
रौशनी नहीं होती – शाहिद सिद्दीक़ी
जब हक़ीक़त-ए ग़म से आगही नहीं होती
ज़ब्त भी नहीं होता, आह भी नहीं होती
हैं फ़िराक़ की रातें एक तिलस्म-ए महरूमी
चांद जगमगाता है, चांदनी नहीं होती
रहनुमा समझती है, राह के अन्धेरौं को
जिस नज़र में मंज़िल की रौशनी नहीं होती
आप से जुदा हो कर मेरा तजरुबा ये है
ज़िंदगी की हर सा’अत ज़िंदगी नहीं होती
ज़ुल्मत-ए शब-ए ग़म में दिल का ख़ून करना है
सिर्फ़ आह करने से रौशनी नहीं होती

Nights of separation are like a spell. Even if there is full moon out, it does not seem to the sorrowful lover that there is any moonlight. Capitalist world order keeping the deprived public under an illusion.

jis nazar2 meN manzil3 ki raushni nahiN hoti1.guide 2.sight 3.goal
If sight is not focused on the light of the goal, then it gets lost in the darkness/deception/distractions of the pathway, mistaking it for its guide.
aap se juda1 ho kar mera tajruba2 ye hai
zindagi ki har saa’at3 zindagi nahiN hoti1.separate, being away 2.experience 3.moment
When the lover is with the beloved then every moment of life is lived to the full. Being away from her, his experience is that life is meaningless.
zulmat1-e shab-e Gham2 meN dil ka Khoon karna hai
sirf aah3 karne se raushni nahiN hoti1.darkness 2.night/evening of sorrow 3.sigh
The darkness of the night of sorrow (zulmat-e shab-e Gham) is the unjust order. Brightness is the new dawn of socialism. You have to spill the blood of your heart during the darkness of night of sorrow/injustice. Only then will the brightness of the new dawn arrive not by mere sighing. Said faiz ahmed faiz
