میں ہر اک پل کا شاعر ہوں، ہر اک پل میری کہانی ہے
ہر اک پل میری ہستی ہے، ہر اک پل میری جوانی  ہے

رشتوں کا روپ بدلتا ہے،  بنیادیں ختم نہیں ہوتیں
خوابوں کی اور اُمنگوں کی، معیادیں ختم نہیں ہوتیں

ہر پھول میں تیرا روپ بسا، ہر پھول میں تیری جوانی ہے
اک چہرہ تیری نشانی ہے، اک چہرہ میری نشانی ہے

تم کو مجھ کو جیون امرت، ان ہاتھوں سے ہی پینا ہے
ان کی دھڑکن میں بسنا ہے، ان کی سانسوں میں جینا ہے

تو اپنی ادا ئیں بخش انہیں، میں اپنی وفائیں دیتا ہوں
جو اپنے لئے سوچی تھی کبھی، وہ ساری دعا ئیں دیتا ہوں

मैं हर एक पल का शाएर हूँ, हर एक पल मेरी कहानी है

हर एक पल मेरी हस्ती है, हर एक पल मेरी जवानी है

रिश्तौं का रूप बदलता है, बुनियादें ख़त्म नहीं होतीं

ख़्वाबों की और उमंगौं की, मेयादें ख़त्म नहीं होतीं

हर फूल में तेरा रूप बसा, हर फूल में तेरी जवानी है

एक चेहरा तेरी निशानी है, एक चेहरा मेरी निशानी है

तुम को मुझ को जीवन अमृत, इन हाथौं से ही पीना है

इन की धड़कन में बसना है, इन की साँसौं में जीना है

तू अपनी अदाएं बख़्श इन्हें, मैं अपनी वफ़ाएँ देता हूँ

जो अपने लिये सोची थी कभी, वो सारी दुआएं देता हूँ

I am a poet for all times. My story endures through time, as if I live forever, as if my message is forever young/eternal.

rishtauN1 ka roop badalta hai, buniyaadeN2 Khatm nahiN hoteeN
KhwaabauN3 ki aur umaNgauN4 ki, me’yaadeN5 Khatm nahiN hoteeN

The shape of superficialities can change. The foundation remains forever. Visions and aspirations do not become irrelevant.

ek chehra2 teri nishaani3 hai, ek chehra meri nishaani hai
1.your – convention might say that this is the beloved but here sahir is speaking to the whole world, to humanity 2.face, image 3.sign, symbol, representation
Every blossom reflects your (human) image. Every blossom has your youth/vigour. Every image is your symbol and mine too. This is a statement of the one-ness of humanity and human aspirations.

in ki dhaRkan2 meN basna hai, in ki saaNsauN3 meN jeena ha

Both you and I have to drink the nectar of life using these hands i.e. we have to shape the world with our own hands. This is our heartbeat and our breath i.e. our life.

jo apne liye sochi thi kabhi, vo saari duaa’eN deta huN
