تجلّیوں سے اندھیروں کی جنگ جاری ہے

اجالے سرخ رو ہوں یہ سب کی ذمّہ داری ہے

جہاں پہ کل تھا گلستاں وہ آج مقتل ہے

فلک خموش ہے پھر دیکھیں کس کی باری ہے

سرِ نیاز جھکانا محبتیں دینا

یہ بزدلی نہیں دراصل خاکساری ہے

رہِ جمود سے نفرت، اڑان کی خواہش

حقیقتاً یہ ضرورت ہے سمجھ داری ہے

یہ گلستاں ہے ہماری ریاضتوں کا ثمر

سنوارنے میں اسے سب کی حصّہ داری ہے

सब की हिस्से-दारी है – मोहम्मद अज़हर शम्स

तजल्लियों से अँधेरों की जंग जारी है

उजाले सुर्ख़-रू हों ये सब की ज़िम्मेदारी है

जहाँ पे कल था गुलिस्ताँ वो आज मक़्तल है

फ़लक ख़मोश है फिर देखें किस की बारी है

सर-ए नियाज़ झुकाना मोहब्बतें देना

ये बुज़-दिली नहीं दर-अस्ल ख़ाकसारी है

रह-ए जुमूद से नफ़रत उढान की ख़्वाहिश

हक़ीक़तन ये ज़रूरत है समझ दारी है

ये गुलिस्ताँ है हमारी रियाज़तों का समर

इसे सँवारने में सब की हिस्से-दारी है

His early schooling was in the local area with intermediate degree in bareli, 1981. He did his BTech computer science from aligaRh, followed by MBA and then Indian Civil Service. At the time of publication of his collection (2015) he was working in Government Railways. There is considerable political consciousness in this Ghazal and is also reflected in the title of his collection ‘dar haqeeqat’-in Truth. This Ghazal is in the zamin of Ghalib’s ‘kuchh to hai jis ki parda-daari hai’ and is linked to Ghalib naqsh-e qadam.

Brightness/brilliance depicts justice; darkness stands for injustice and oppression. The conflict between the two is underway and it is the responsibility of everyone that justice should triumph. falak4 Khamosh5 hai phir dekheN kis ki baari6 hai   
1.where 2.garden 3.slaughterhouse 4.sky, fate, god 5.silent 6.turn
Where there was a garden yesterday, there is a slaughterhouse today. The sky/god/justice is silent, waiting to see whose turn it is next. This could well be about communal riots.

sar-e niyaaz1 jhukaana mohabbateN dena
ye buz-dili2 nahiN dar-asl3 Khaaksaari4 hai

When someone offers devotion and love, do not mistake it for cowardice. In reality, it is that they are being considerate and humble.

haqiqatan6 ye zarurat7 hai samajh-daari8 hai   
1.path 2.stasis, stand-still 3.hatred 4.flight 5.wish 6.in reality 7.need 8.good sense
Hatred of the path of stillness (no progress, changelessness), the desire to fly to new horizons (the desire for change), in reality this is a need, it makes good sense.

saNvaarne4 meN ise sab ki hisse-daari5 hai   
1.garden 2.practice, hard work 3.fruit 4.beautification 5.participation, credit
This garden (homeland) is the fruit of everyone’s (all communities) hard work. Everyone has participated in its beautification.
