اُن کو دیکھا تو ہوئی اُن کی تمنّا میں غزل
پھر وہی درد کی دنیا، وہی سودائے غزل

دل کی حسرت ہے کہ ہوں آپ سے باتیں پیہم
آپ سے بات ہی کرنا تو ہے ایمائے غزل

میں نے اک عمر میں سمجھا ہے غزل کا مفہوم
میرا مفہومِ دِلی کاش اُٹھا پائے غزل

دل کی بنیاد پہ ہے شعر و غزل کی تعمیر
دل اگر ساتھ نہ دے خاک میں مل جائے غزل

مجھ کو یہ خوف ہے شاداںؔ کہ میرے بعد کہیں
کسی نا اہل کے ہاتھوں میں نہ پڑ جائے غزل

दिल की बुनियाद पे है शे’र ओ ग़ज़ल की ता’मीर
दिल अगर साथ न दे ख़ाक में मिल जाए ग़ज़ल

मुझ को ये ख़ौफ़ है शादां के मेरे बाद कहीं
किसी ना-अहल के हाथौं में न पढ जाए ग़ज़ल

I could not find anything about the poet other than that he grew up around bhopal and gwalior. His collection, published in 1984, does not have a single word about him. It was selected and published by the madhya pradesh urdu academy. My guess is that at the time of the publication of his collection, he was already a mature person.

When the poet sees the beloved, desire for her takes the form of a Ghazal. He is once again in that world of pain (of love) and seeks to compose a Ghazal.

The heart desires that I converse with you again and again. After all talking to you is like the permission to say a Ghazal.
