عید کا چاند ۔ پروین شاکر

 

گئے برس کی عید کا دن کیا اچھا تھا

چاند کو دیکھ کے اس کا چہرہ دیکھا تھا

 

فضا میں کیٹسؔ کے لہجے کی نرماہٹ تھی

موسم اپنے رنگ میں فیضؔ کا مصرعہ تھا

 

دعا کے بے آواز الوہی لمحوں میں

وہ لمحہ بھی کتنا دل کش لمحہ تھا

 

ہاتھ اٹھا کر جب آنکھوں ہی آنکھوں میں

اس نے مجھ کو اپنے رب سے مانگا تھا

 

پھر میرے چہرے کو ہاتھوں میں لے کر

کتنے پیار سے میرا ماتھا چوما تھا!

 

ہوا! کچھ آج کی شب کا بھی احوال سنا

کیا وہ اپنی چھت پر آج اکیلا تھا؟

 

یا کوئی میرے جیسی ساتھ تھی اور اس نے

چاند کو دیکھ کے اس کا چہرہ دیکھا تھا؟

गए बरस की ईद का दिन क्या अच्छा था

चाँद को देख के उस का चेहरा देखा था

 

फ़ज़ा में ‘कीट्स’ के लहजे की नरमाहट थी

मौसम अपने रंग में ‘फ़ैज़’ का मिस्रा था

 

दुआ के बे-आवाज़ उलूही लम्हों में

वो लम्हा भी कितना दिलकश लम्हा था

 

हाथ उठा कर जब आँखों ही आँखों में

उस ने मुझ को अपने रब से माँगा था

 

फिर मेरे चेहरे को हाथों में ले कर

कितने प्यार से मेरा माथा चूमा था!

 

हवा! कुछ आज की शब का भी अहवाल सुना

क्या वो अपनी छत पर आज अकेला था?

 

या कोई मेरे जैसी साथ थी और उस ने

चाँद को देख के उस का चेहरा देखा था?

It is a tradition that upon sighting the eid crescent the person closed their eyes until they are facing some loved one who is supposed to bring good luck. The eid of yesteryear was so pleasant. Sighting the moon, I had looked at his face.
