بہارِ گُل میں جو گرداں خُمِ شراب ہوا

تو مئے شفق ہوئی  پیمانہ آفتاب ہوا

اسیر کر کے دِلِ بیقرار کو میرے

کمال گیسوئے جاناں کو پیچ و تاب ہوا

قفس میں بند ہوئی حیف بُلبُلِ ناشاد

بہارِ گُل میں گُلِستاں کا وا جو باب ہوا

تڑپ کے سینے سے میرے نکل گیا آخر

شبِ فراق میں دِل کو یہ اِضطراب ہوا

سیاہ کار وہ تھا میرے جرم کا عثماں

شمار ہو نہ سکا جِس گھڑی حساب ہوا

हिसाब हुआ – उस्मान अली ख़ां

बहार-ए गुल में जो गिरदां ख़ुम-ए शराब हुआ

तो मेए शफ़क़ हुई पैमाना आफ़्ताब हुआ

असीर कर के दिल-ए बे-क़रार को मेरे

कमाल गेसू-ए जानां को पेच ओ ताब हुआ

क़फ़स में बन्द हुई हैफ़ बुलबुल-ए नाशाद

बहार-ए गुल में गुलिस्तां का वा जो बाब हुआ

तड़प के सीने से मेरे निकल गया आख़िर

शब-ए फ़िराक़ में दिल को ये इज़्तेराब हुआ

सियाह कार वो था मेरे जुर्म का उस्मां

शुमार हो न सका जिस घड़ी हिसाब हुआ

to mae4 shafaq5 hui, paimaana6 aaftaab7 hua
1.season, spring 2.turn upside down 3.flask 4.wine 5.twilight redness 6.goblet 7.sun
Springtime sunset and the redness at twilight is imagined as the spilling of wine from the flask. The horizon turns red like wine and the sun is like a cup of wine which overflows and spreads redness.

aseer1 kar ke dil-e be-qaraar2 ko mere
kamaal3 gesu4-e jaanaaN5 ko pech-o-taab6 hua
1.capture, imprison 2.restless 3.perfect, suitable 4.hair 5.beloved 6.curls and brilliance
The heart of the poet/lover got snared in the locks of the beloved. It is this that makes curls and brilliance of her hair even more perfect. His heart is a perfect accompaniment to her curls.

qafas1 meN band hui haif2 bulbul-e naashaad3
bahaar4-e gul meN gulistaaN ka va5 jo baab6 hua
1.cage 2.alas 3.unhappy 4.spring 5.open 6.door
When the door of spring opened in the garden i.e. just as when spring arrived, alas, the unhappy bulbul got caught and put in a cage.

taRap ke seene se mere nikal gaya aaKhir
shab1-e firaaq2 meN dil ko ye izteraab3 hua
1.night of 2.separation 3.eagerness, restlessness
During the night of separation, the heart of the poet/lover got so restless that it ran out of his bosom. It is not necessary that the poet/lover died at this stage. It may not be necessary in this poetic formulation.

siyaah-kaar1 vo tha mere jurm2 ka usmaaN
shumaar3 ho na saka jis ghaRi4 hisaab5 hua
1.black deeds 2.crime, transgression, sin 3.reckoning 4.moment 5.counting
The black deeds/sins of the poet were so many that when they started to reckon them, they could not count.
