लाखों सफ़ीने पार लगाए

He covers romantic, religious, sufiyaana and folk themes through chaste urdu, faarsi and conversational urdu/hindi, drama, novel and poetry. This is a prayer to krishn styled as a folk song. Compare this with behzaad’s ‘hamd’ to see how uncannily similar they are.

You have removed sorrows of the whole world. You have taken thousands of boats across (stormy seas). Get me across too, O, krishna. Play your flute.
