بڑے ناز سے آ ج اُبھرا ہے سورج
ہمالہ کے اونچے کلس جگمگائے
پہاڑوں کے چشموں کو سونا بنایا
نئے بل نئے زور اِنکو سکھائے

لباسِ زری آبشاروں نے پایا
نشیبی زمینوں پہ چھینٹے اُڑائے
گھنے اُونچے اُونچے درختوں کا منظر
یہ ہیں آج سب آبِ زرّیں نہائے

مگر اِن درختو ں کے سائے میں ائے دِل
ہزاروں برس کے یہ ٹھٹھرے سے پودے
ہزاروں برس کے یہ سمٹے سے پودے
یہ ہیں آج سرد بے حال بے دم
یہ ہیں آج بھی اپنے سر کو جھکائے

ارے او نئی شان کے میرے سورج
تری آب میں اور بھی تاب آئے
ترے پاس ایسی بھی کوئی کرن ہے
جو ایسے درختو ں میں بھی راہ پائے
جو ٹھٹھرے ہوؤں کو جو سمٹے ہوؤں کو
حرارت بھی بخشے گلے بھی لگائے

کہ تاروں کی دُنیا کو بھی رشک آئے
ہمارے عقابوں نے انگڑائیاں لیں
سنہری ہواوٗں میں پر پھڑپھڑائے
فزوں تر ہوا نشہٗ کامرانی
تجسسسُ کی آنکھوں میں ڈورے سے آئے

مگر برق و آتش کے سائے میں ائے دِل
یہ صدیوں کے خود رفتہ ناشاد طائر
یہ صدیوں کے پر بستہ برباد طائر
یہ ہیں آج بھی مضمحل دِل گِرفتہ
یہ ہیں آج بھی اپنے سر کو چھپائے

ارے او نئی شان کے میرے سورج
تری آب میں اور بھی تاب آئے
ترے پاس ایسی بھی کوئی کرن ہے
اِنھیں پنجہٗ تیز سے جو بچائے
اِنھیں جو نئے بال و پر آکے بخشے
اِ نھیں جو نئے سرِ سے اُڑنا سکھائے

बड़े नाज़ से आज उभरा है सूरज
हिमाला के ऊंचे कलस जगमगाए
पहाड़ों के चश्मों को सोना बनाये
नए बल नए ज़ोर इनको सिखाये

लिबास ए ज़री आबशारों ने पाया
नशेबी ज़मीनों पे छींटे उड़ाए
घने ऊंचे ऊंचे दरख़्तौं का मंज़र
ये हैं आज सब आब ए ज़र्रीं नहाये

मगर इन दरख़्तौं के साए में अए दिल
हज़ारौं बरस के ये ठिठरे से पौदे
हज़ारौं बरस के ये सिमटे से पौदे
ये हैं आज सर्द बे हाल बे दम
ये हैं आज भी अपने सर को झुकाए

अरे ओ नई शान के मेरे सूरज
तेरी आब में और भी ताब आए
तेरे पास ऐसी भी कोई किरन है
जो ऐसे दरख़्तौं में भी राह पाए
जो ठिठरे हुओं को, जो सिमटे हुओं को
हरारत भी बख़्शे गले भी लगाये

फ़ुज़ूँ तर हुआ नशा ए कामरानी
तजस्सुस की आँखों में डोरे से आए

मगर बर्क़ ओ आतिश के साए में अए दिल
ये सदियों के ख़ुद रफ़्ता नाशाद ताएर
ये सदियों के पर बस्ता बरबाद ताएर
ये हैं आज भी मुज़्महिल दिल गिरफ़्ता
ये हैं आज भी अपने सर को छुपाए

ye haiN aaj sab aab-e-zarriN6 nahaaye 1.golden dress 2.waterfalls 3.low lands, valleys 4.drops 5.trees 6.golden water
The sheets of water falls in their golden hue look like they are wearing a golden dress. The sprinkle the lowlands with drops of gold. The vista is of tall trees, drenched in gold.

hazaaroN baras ke ye simTe3 se paude
ye haiN aaj sard4, be haal5, be dam
ye haiN aaj bhi apne sar ko jhukaye 1.trees 2.shrunk 3.wrinkled, huddled 4.cold 5.distraught, frightened
But in the shadow of these tall trees, my dear heart, shrunken for a thousand years are little bushes. Little bushes that huddled in the cold, distraught, frightened and weak.

Even dust particles all around reflect the colour of gold making even the starry skies jealous of the country. Our own hawks, wake up, stir and stretch, flapping their wings in the golden air. The intoxication of success increases even more. Their eyes look for opportunities and turn red with greed.

ye haiN aaj bhi apne sar ko chhupaaye 1.lightning and fire, brilliance of celebration 2.centuries 3.unaware, innocent 4.unhappy 6.folded (tied) wings 8.weak 9.in the grip of their heart (unfulfilled desires)
But in the shadow of the brilliance of this celebration, forgotten for centuries, unhappy little birds, with winds tied and utterly destroyed. Even to this day, they are weak and in the grip of unfulfilled desires. They still hide their head in shame.
