آج بازار میں پا بہ جولاں چلو ۔ فیض احمد فیض

 

چشمِ نم جانِ شوریدہ کافی نہیں

تہمتِ عشقِ پوشیدہ کافی نہیں

 

آج بازار میں پا بہ جولاں چلو

دست افشاں چلو ،مست و رقصاں چلو

خاک بر سر چلو، خوں بداماں چلو

راہ تکتا ہے سب شہرِ جاناں چلو

 

حاکمِ شہر بھی، مجمع عام بھی

تیرِ اِلزام بھی، سنگِ دُشنام بھی

صبح ناشاد بھی، روزِ ناکام بھی

 

اِن کا دم ساز اپنے سوا کون ہے

شہرِ جاناں میں اب با صفا کون ہے

دستِ قاتل کے شایاں رہا کون ہے

 

رختِ دِل باندھ لو دِل فگارو چلو

پھر ہمیں قتل ہو آئیں یارو چلو

पा बा जौलां चलो – फ़ैज़ अहमद फ़ैज़

 

चश्म-ए नम जान-ए शोरीदा काफ़ी नहीं

तोहमत-ए इश्क़-ए पोशीदा काफ़ी नहीं

 

आज बाज़ार में पा बा जौलां चलो

दस्त अफ़्शां चलो, मुस्त ओ रक़साँ चलो

ख़ाक बर सर चलो, ख़ूं ब दामाँ चलो

राह तकता है सब शहर-ए जानां चलो

 

हाकिम-ए शहर भी मजमा’-ए आम भी

तीर-ए इल्ज़ाम भी, संग-ए दुश्नाम भी

सुबह नाशाद भी, रोज़-ए नाकाम भी

 

इनका दमसाज़ अपने सिवा कौन है

शहर-ए जानां में अब बासफ़ा कौन है

दस्त-ए क़ातिल के शायां रहा कौन है

 

रख़त-ए दिल बाँध लो दिल फ़िगारां चलो

फिर हमीं क़त्ल हो आएं यारो चलो

Secret sympathizing is not-enough. faiz is calling upon comrades/fellow poets to come out in the open.

A teary-eye and frenzied look, not-enough. It is not-enough that you have are suspected of a secret/hidden love.

dast afshaaN7 chalo, must8 o raqsaaN9 chalo
Khaak bar sar10 chalo, KhuN ba damaaN11 chalo
raah takta12 hai sub shahr-e janaaN13 chalo
6.feet in fetters 7.hands raised (in protest or to strike) 8.drunk, in a trance 9.dancing 10.dust on head, declaration of mourning/protest 11.blood stained robe/apron 12.eagerly looking/waiting for (you) 13.city of the beloved
Come out in the open today with fetters on your feet. Come out waving your hands, dancing in a trance. Come out with dust in your hair, blood stains on your robe. All these are open declarations/display of a frenzied state of mind. Come out, the city of the beloved awaits.

subah nashaad5 bhi, roz-e nakaam6 bhi
1.ruler of the city (of the time) 2.general public 3.arrow of glame 4.rock of abuse 5.unhappy 6.useless day
The ruler of the city and the populace as well (are watching). Come out and face the arrow of calumny, bear stoning by insults and sorrowful dawns, useless days too.

inka damsaaz7 apne siva8 kaun hai
shahr-e janaaN9 meN ab basafa10 kaun hai
dast-e qatil11 ke shayaaN12 raha kaun hai
7.helper 8.except for 9.city of the beloved 10.pure, sincere, truthful 11.hand of the killer 12.deserving of
But what friend do they have, except us. Who else in the city of beloved can be trusted. Who else is left, worthy of the executioner’s hand.

phir hameeN15 qatl ho aaeN yaaro chalo
13.belongings of the heart, heart’s desire 14.love stricken 15.(only, just) us (no one-else is willing)
Roll the bundle of burdens of your heart, O heart-stricken and come. Let us again mount the gallows, friends, come.
