چھپی باتیں اپس دل کی سُنا آہستہ آہستہ

غرض گویاں کی باتوں کوں نہ لا خاطر منیں ہرگز

سجن اِس بات کوں خاطر میں لا آہستہ آہستہ

ہر اِک کی بات سُننے پر توجہ مت کر اے ظالم

رقیباں اِس سبب ہوں گے جدا آہستہ آہستہ

مبادا محتسب بدمست سُن کر تان میں آوے

طنبورہ آہ کا اے دل بجا آہستہ آہستہ

ولیؔ ہرگز اپس کے دل کوں سینے میں نہ رکھ غمگیں

کہ بر لاوے گا مطلب کوں خدا آہستہ آہستہ

सजन टुक नाज़ सूं मुझ पास आ अहस्ता अहस्ता

छुपी बातें अपस दिल की सुना अहस्ता अहस्ता

ग़रज़ गोयां कि बातौं कूं न लो ख़ातर मुनीं हरगिज़

सजन इस बात कूं ख़ातर में ला अहस्ता अहस्ता

हर एक की बात सुन्ने पर तवज्जोह मत कर अए ज़ालिम

रक़ीबां इस सबब होंगें जुदा अहस्ता अहस्ता

मबादा मोहतसब बद्मस्त सुन कर तान में आवे

तंबुरा ताल का अए दिल बजा अहस्ता अहस्ता

वली हरगिज़ अपस के दिल कुं सीने में न रख ग़मगीं

के बर लावेगा मत्लब कूं ख़ुदा अहस्ता अहस्ता

This gave great respectability to urdu and acceptance of the work of poets like mir taqi mir who came later.
